Is the final viewing a thing in the US ?
I just started the show for the first time, and was kinda weirded out by both parents and the funeral lady insisting on the young kid to have a last view on his grandmother.
Here in France the final viewing is seen as a weird and disturbing thing that only our (great-)grandparents knew when they were young, and is basically not applied since the 1940s.
So I was asking: is it really something cultural, or just for the sake of the plot ?
