I can't learn Spanish
I feel like a fucking idiot I've been learning this language for 5 years! I just cannot grasp it. I learn new phrases then forget the basics. I listen to conversations, watch Spanish tv with Spanish subtitles...I get by with subtitles but identifying the words people are saying without this I find really hard, even when listening to conversations I maybe pick 3 words up in a sentence.
My partner is Spanish and I think friends and family are fed up with my inability to pick up the language. I'm quite happy not to speak or have friends but the feeling of being a let down to people I regularly interact with is really getting me down. I thought by now I'd be able to hold a semi functional conversation but no.
If anyone is as braindead as me, please how did you get around this?
