Casemiro to Inter Miami
How is this possible? How in the ever loving fuck are they going to pay him? Miami’s gross payout this year will be almost $54M. Ours is $23M. This is absolute bullshit. How are we supposed to compete?

Whats the hardest invasive species to get rid of and keep out? Not which is most prolific and problematic. Specifically removal and maintenance. For instance, garlic mustard has actually been a pretty easy invasive to manage, same with bush honeysuckle. Which species are an absolute pain to eradicate and keep out? Preferably eastern US.
My personal vote is for bamboo (although I haven’t had to deal with it) or potentially Kudzu (also don’t have to deal with it). Hardest for me is creeping Charlie and winter creeper.
I’m in SW Ohio. I just planted a trumpet vine because it was one of three straight species natives available at a massive commercial nursery (disappointing I know)… F Natorp.
When trying to research this plant online I found very little. Most of the videos I’ve seen about trumpet vine are actually by English gardeners ironically enough. They talk about how aggressive it is and warn you not to plant it anywhere near your house because it will F up your siding and roof. They also warned about planting it on a trellis or pergola because of how heavy it gets.
I thought it might be interesting to train the plant to go up a tree. Only issue is that trumpet vine requires full sun. My solution you ask? I have a million black locust trees that were previously being consumed by winter creeper. These trees have a pretty thin canopy, so a decent amount of light gets through. Plus it is on the south side of the tree with an unobstructed view of the afternoon sun. I figure that the tree will be strong enough to support, but still allow enough sunlight through. I’ve zip tied 3 of the vines to the tree, and I have a notification in a month to remove them.
Thoughts? Has anyone grown trumpet vine before? In the manner? Think this will work? Will it take over everything? Is that necessarily a bad thing? Am I an idiot for planting this in the first place? Can jet fuel melt steel beams? Find out on next week’s episode of Dumbass Wannabe Conservationist Plants Native.
Happy planting
