Guitar Center returns

I’m heading on a US tour soon and am considering doing the old Guitar Center trick (buying gear in the first city and returning it in the final city) - I remember hearing about this years ago and was wondering if this was something they had gotten hip to and it wasn’t really a viable option anymore? Anything to bear in mind? Also we’re starting in the US and ending in Canada, which I imagine might complicate things a little?

When does breathing start to improve?

I just started week 4 and can say with some confidence that my breathing has had no noticeable improvement since week 1, day 1. I’m still getting gassed within 1:30 - 2:00 of my first run, my deep breaths still feel performative (as if I’m doing an impression of a deep breath within 1 step, holding it for 2 steps and then quickly doing some regular breaths before I breathe out for 1 step, over and over). I either don’t have the lung capacity to breathe deeply enough over the course of 3 or 4 paces, or I don’t have the strength to breathe that slowly. My throat and upper chest feel like they’re on fire by the end of the run and I feel so light-headed I could pass out. I’m 38, slim and walk constantly, eat well and stay hydrated, I’ve just always struggled with cardio and hoped this would be the way to improve it - has anyone else had this experience?

Is there a trainer who doesn’t constantly talk?

I’m on week three with Sanjeev, and while I can feel my health improving, his constant interruptions are getting more and more annoying. I’m doing my warm up walk and he’s fading the music to ask me how the weather is. I’m zoning out on a 3 minute run and my music fades down so he can tell me I’m still not done. I tried turning ‘trainer voice off’ thinking it would just tell me when to stop and when to go but it’s just full mute, which I can’t imagine a use for. I’d really like to continue but there has to be a better way.

Has anyone disassembled a Fantom (or EX)?

I love the Fantom but am intrigued by the idea of replacing the end cheeks with wood - I don’t see any clear way to take them off so my worry is that it’d need a full disassembly. Anybody opened one of these things up who could confirm or deny?
