Why is getting past 4 defenders standing at the blue line so difficult for the flyers to get past during the power play?

Meanwhile when the flyers are on defense for a powerplay they play like 1-3 zone defense or something and it's like the canes just walk into the zone ?

Its what the canes defense does on the powerplay just that effective...? Or are they that good ? Is the flyers PP just that bad ?

I never played hockey, just been watching the 3 years or so, not every regular game but a handful and I'll usually watch most of the playoffs. So my knowledge of x/o's is zero lol.

Explain to me like I'm 5 please.
