For those that don't know, the lower the #, the greater amount of recoil reduction. The 40 degree is what the gun comes with stock in Europe and is designed for 9mm NATO (equivalent to USA+p). The 45 was designed for weak USA 9mm 115gr range ammo. The 35 was designed for suppressed shooting.

17rnd and 25rnd mags getting stuck on mag release during attempted reloads

During a training class, I ran into issues with the 4 17rnd mags I was using with my p365X where during reloads they would sometimes seem to hit a wall and get stuck. They wouldn't fully seat unless I pulled them out slightly and tried again. When troubleshooting after the class, I found I could reproduce this consistently when inserting the mags at a specific angle and discovered they were getting stuck on the mag release (see picture). I had the same problem with a standard p365 grip module as well. Swapping between an OEM mag release and an Align Tactical offset extended magazine release did not fix the issue. Whether the magazines were loaded or not made no difference. I can reproduce this problem with all 9 of the 17 round magazines that I currently own. I believe these were purchased at least two different times from two different vendors as some have an FDE bottom and some are black. Interestingly, I could not reproduce this issue with my 12 round mags or 21 round mags but could reproduce with all 5 of my 25 round mags.

I'm not sure what to do. I may call Sig but it seems like an odd issue to have with only mags of two specific sizes. They may swap the mags with replacements but it seems like the new ones would likely have the same problem. Does anyone have any 17 or 25 round mags they could test with a p365 or p365X grip module to see if they get stuck when inserted at a slight angle? I wonder if there is a slight geometry difference with the new macro and fuse grip modules compared to the skinnier p365/X/XL and Sig didn't test as much with these higher capacity mags in the smaller grip modules.

To make things worse, I'm in Virginia and depending how long Sig would take to send replacements I could get screwed by the July 1st deadline. I'd love to be able to just fix this myself; I may try polishing that corner of one of the mags to see if that helps.

Has anyone experienced this or heard of it before?
