Opinions?

I have always considered these two movies to be my favourite Star Wars films.
In my mind I have tended to consider them as good as each other.
BUT
For the first time ever I just watched them back to back.
In my opinion, Empire Strikes Back is just a better movie. I’ve always thought the dialogue is the weakness of the prequels, and the special effects are the weakness of the originals. However, I feel that one of those is excusable due to the time it was made and the other isn’t.
I can’t say how refreshing it was to go from the script of Episode 3 to that of Episode 5. The crackling dialogue between Leia and Han on Hoth in the tunnels, compared to between Anakin and Padme, it just instantly clicked in my head which film is better.
I think the pacing is a little better, the characters are more compelling, and the special effects aren’t even that bad.

I didn’t rank the sequels because I just haven’t rewatched the fights enough to place them fairly amongst these duels I know so well.

The power/ability of the Jedi council by the time of order 66. The tiers are the enemies they could tangle with (not necessarily beat, but could fight fairly evenly).
