Has Anyone Else Had This Issue with Coles' Chicken?

I bought a pack of 2 chicken breasts from my local Coles on Friday with a use-by date of today (May 19th). When I went to use the meat on Sunday (May 17th), it smelled foul and large parts of it were grey-green. I'll be returning it for a refund this afternoon.

As a one-off, it's not a massive deal, but this is the third time in the past 4-ish months that I've bought raw chicken breasts from Coles that have turned out to be contaminated and clearly unsafe to eat. Last time, it developed white spots all over and the first time, it was extremely slimy. Both previous packs also had the same foul smell.

I returned those for a refund without issue, and with agreement and apologies from the staff member processing it, but at this point, I just don't feel safe buying raw chicken from Coles, anymore.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem, particularly repeat incidents? Any ideas as to possible causes?

I've been buying raw meat from Coles for over a decade and never had an issue until this year. It's also not a problem with our fridge (we've checked) or our food hygiene practices. My biomed undergrad involved a lot of microbiology, which taught me to be extremely thorough with cleaning, hygiene and temperature control when it comes to food.

I'm hoping it's just bad luck on my part, but wanted to put the question out there, in case it's not just me.
