AITA for getting a butthole tattoo
I'm in a relationship with someone, it could be construed as a situationship. We care a lot about each other but right now isn't the best time to be together for a lot of life reasons outside of us. We still talk daily, see each other a couple times a week, and are generally very happy.
I've wanted a butthole tattoo for YEARS and I've talked about it many times since I started seeing this person. Well I finally pulled the trigger and found an artist, and my person was very unhappy that this artist physically is "my type." I view it kinda like going to the doctor, like he's a professional just doing a job, so attractiveness doesn't matter. I'm going there to be in pain and walk out with a cool butthole.
My person played this back and forth game when I asked if they're still okay with me getting the tattoo from this artist. First it was no, then it was "do what you want," and just overall mixed signals. I said screw it, I've wanted this for a long time, and booked the appointment. Fast forward, my appointment is tomorrow and my person is CRASHING. OUT. convinced I'm going to leave them and that more is going to happen, and there's not a lot my constant reassurance is doing to help. Now I'm left with implications that if I cared about their feelings, I wouldn't get it done.
