We all hear about alumni doing phd/research abroad, but what about those that stay in the country? After phd, what are their plans? As someone who wants to stay in India, it feels like I'd feel kinda isolated in the community

I got into IISER Kolkata this year. But I've been having my doubts as to whether I should join cause I mainly want to teach in the future. Also, is the academic pressure too much? I heard someone comparing it to the stress you face before class 12 boards/competitive exams, but all year round. Is this true?
