I like the way they did the pigtails for Sestieh here but I can't identify the white parts used to attach everything else together. What a fun kit to upgrade the Reaper! I got it for the helmet but the wings are really nice too. I saw a tip about painting the space behind the clear red visor a bright silver color to get the red to pop more, and it works! Maybe not in this lighting, but in bright light situations, the red pops very well.
I really liked the headpiece. Gonna make the wings soon because Neverlia refused to return them.
What's the kit that has this alternate headpiece for the Reaper? I can't seem to find it.
Here is my attempt at combining several kits with Ilshana:
Option Parts 8 - Scout Costume
Option Parts Arms and Legs Color C
Option Parts 20 - Float Unit
Option Parts 3 - Mechanical Unit
Originally I wanted to give Ilshana the Float Unit treatment, and I figured it would be easy enough to swap in parts from the Arms and Legs kit since Float only comes with Color B parts. I was half-wrong about that.
First, let me say that the Float Unit's shoulder and shorts segments in black and white are a perfect color match for the black and white torso sections of the Scout Costume. The problem came about with the forearm parts - the Float Unit has slightly longer forearms that have a space for the clear red bracelet parts. The Color C forearm parts do not accommodate this. Then there are the wrist joint connectors. Float Unit hands have smaller pegs in Color B, so the Color C wrist joint parts did not fit, which is a shame. So I decided to give her some Mechanical Unit arms. The oversized claws fit her personality anyway, and the colors also match perfectly with the black and white segments Scout Costume and Float Unit kits. The Color C Thighs are compatible with the Float Unit, but that's no surprise.
Side note, the gartered leg parts of the Scout Costume are not compatible with Ilshana's base body. They are slightly larger, so you can't just swap them around.
For panel lining, I normally use grey for white parts, but black seemed like a better option for such dramatic-looking parts.
Overall, it was really fun putting these all together. I got turned around a few times because I had to keep track of four different instruction manuals lol. A little disappointed that some parts weren't compatible, but I made it work. The leg parts of the Mechanical Unit can go toward some future 30MM kit I get.
It took me a while to find the time to finish her, but here she is! Very simple and straightforward build. The only thing different I noticed was how much more pressure was required to push in the leg-to-hip ball joint. I thought I damaged it during the struggle, but it seems like the joints are holding strong and posing isn't affected. Phew.
I wasn't really a fan of the brown armor pieces for the liber warrior, but I love the aesthetic. Gonna paint all the brown bits gold and the horn bits in bone. Hand painting because I don't have the equipment or skill to airbrush.
