Bachelor of Animation students - Portfolio Help

So I'm aiming to apply for the Bachelor of Design (Animation and Interactive Media).

I submitted my portfolio for sem2 intake but they weren't able to open it. The one thing they were able to see (the storyboard) was not up to scratch. Now, going over my portfolio, I'm beginning to second guess whether the pieces I included are acceptable for what they're looking for, even though I'm very proud of them myself.

I was wondering whether I should submit another application before July 17, this time with an accessible portfolio, and if I'm allowed to do this?

Also hoping for portfolio examples, maybe some help with what kind of pieces are more likely to be accepted.

Any help would be appreciated guys, thank you.

Should I change courses (Software Engineering to Animation)

For background, I enrolled straight out of year 12 into a Bachelor of Software Engineering, mostly because I heard good things about it (primarily on the money side) and it sounded fancy enough to please my parents. Now, halfway through the year, I'm pretty miserable. I know it seems early to say that but to be honest, ever since early high school I wanted to go into animation, but my parents shut that idea down and so I stuffed it down into the back of my mind, instead choosing the 'secure' path. I never stopped creating though.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind programming, or math. It's just that when I envision myself after I complete this degree, even if I'm wildly successful, or get the highest paying job, I'm not happy with that. I've been really out of it with my classes, barely holding onto 50%. I failed a subject already. It's not due to lack of ability, it's more about motivation. I'm working towards a goal I don't really want.

So now I'm hoping to transfer from my Bachelor of Software Engineering (Professional) to Bachelor of Design (Animation and Interactive Media). I don't really know how to go about this, so I emailed study@rmit. I'd also like some advice from students who went a similar direction to that which I plan to (STEM to art). Is it worth it if I'm willing to put in the work? What are the career prospects like?

Any help would be appreciated.
