Job Opportunity – I'm looking for a new Studio Assistant role to be filled at Blue Butler Studios. Pay scale ranging $22 to $30/hour DOE 10-20 hours/week starting, up to 30 hours/week after 6 months to a year. This is not a recording specific role nor requires any specific audio engineering experience, although that is a pro. Deadline Oct 30th 2026. Interns are paid minimum $20/hour, up to $25/hour if it is converted to a regular part time role. All employees are paid $25/hour minimum after full onboarding with regular cost of living and experience adjustments.

Venue Update – I posted a little over a month or so ago about a new venue that I would be placing a Steinway D in on Hawthorne. Unfortunately the building owner decided they are going to sell and pulled their lease offer that was going to start in January. If anyone knows a great existing space that could fit a $120,000 9' concert grand to program jazz/improvisational/avant gaurde music, please comment some recs/addresses/businesses.

I'll be building out a new music venue featuring a newer Steinway D 9-foot concert grand on Hawthorne right across the street from No Fun bar featuring all jazz/classical/improvisational music. Be on the lookout for an opening festival in January/February. It'll be about 40-45 audience cap, and have a music school/rehearsal space complex operating out of the building.

If you have a group featuring the piano that falls in those genre realms (maybe songwriter music as well) and are all acoustic/low to mid volume let me know!

I'm looking at placing a quality full size grand piano in a venue or a restaurant in town to program shows for, anyone know some good potential locations for that? Climate controlled, open to a wide variety of classical, jazz & improvised music, and open to providing a musician pay guarantee. SE or lower NE Portland preferred.

OR if anyone knows a small commercial/retail space that is around 1000 square feet for less than $3000/month let me know!

I really just want a space where I and other piano players can perform on their instrument rather than a keyboard, so working with an existing venue/space would be ideal.
