Burgeoning funk group seeks trumpet or trombone (SE Portland near Reed)
We're a new funk group consisting of a guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer, and saxophone player. We have two originals with more in the works, and are most of the way towards filling out a setlist with covers. We've all been playing music in various projects for a long time, so we know the drill and are mature and collaborative. We try to get together on Friday nights relatively consistently.
Our influences include Herbie Hancock, Louis Cole/Knower, Jamiroquai, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Tower of Power, and Vulfpeck.
We're looking to round out our ensemble with another horn. Our saxophonist can cover alto or bari, so a trumpet or trombone would be ideal. We're hoping to get a new horn player up to speed and get to playing out. If that sounds good to you hit us up!
Sun 5/14 @ Blackwater - Nü-klē-ər Blast Suntan / Radiant Damage / Biology ($10 cover, music at 9)
Looking for Drummer and Bassist
Hello! My band's rhythm section moved on a little bit ago and left us as a two guitar and vocals duo. We've got a bunch of older songs and have been working on some new stuff that we're eager to flesh out and start playing out. Looking for a drummer and a bass player.
We're in the indie/alternative rock vein. We've been playing together since high school and our earliest shared influences were Nirvana and Weezer, then Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, Foals, Manchester Orchestra, Frightened Rabbit... Our individual tastes are all over the place, but I'd personally list We Were Promised Jetpacks, the Beths, the National, Pedro the Lion, IDLES, the Breeders as big influences on my songwriting. (I could probably list artists forever, so I'll stop there.)
Happy to DM some demos if anyone is interested!
Bassist seeking band
Hey, I'm looking for some fun, tight songs to play bass too. I am in my late 30s. Been playing for 20 years.
I love fast punk stuff like Lagwagon or Pears. I like heavier stuff like Mastodon, Kylesa. I like spacier stuff like Cave In or Oranssi Pazuzu. I love droney loops like Stereolab. I can play with a pick, I can play with my fingers.
Looking for some nice people to play with. If you have demos, you can send me your music and I can record something and send it back.
Booking managers
Are there any local booking managers that could help me get some shows up
There?
How to get into event production
Has anyone here worked for live event production? I've realized recently I really want to get into it, I've loved concerts and shows my whole life. They're all my best memories, and I realized recently how amazing it would be to create those moments for people.
Photography and music are my main passions. I was researching it and from what I've heard, it sounds like a solid mix between industrial technicians and art. Which sounds perfect for me.
I've worked in manufacturing for quite a few years and am going towards a steamfitting apprenticeship right now.
It would have to be a part time gig for me, but thinking about getting involved in the behind-the-scenes part of shows has really lit up the spark in my heart again.
I've had a "plan" to eventually pursue event photography once I'm more settled into my apprenticeship but I think I'd love to help in any form of producing a memorable event for people and share similar moments that are so special and memorable to me in my life. ❤️🌌
Jazz jams in Portland?
hi, my friends and I will be in Oregon this summer and wanted to check out the Portland jazz scene. what are some of the best jazz jams to check out, play and hang?
High water mark live shows
Does anyone know a schedule of the high water mark lounges live shows or when the next one is?
Are you our new drummer?🥁
Hey y’all!
My band, Ben and the Bloodshots, is looking for a drummer. We play goth country/rock; kind of like Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, and various metal/rock bands thrown into a blender. High energy, lyrically driven, and fun
Here’s a link to our music: https://benandthebloodshots.bandcamp.com/album/if-you-ever-get-to-heaven
Currently, we practice on Wednesdays and Sundays, but the weekday can be flexible depending on schedules.
We’re taking a break from shows at the moment to work on a new record, but we’d love to start playing again around late-July/August.
If you’re interested —or know someone who might be— shoot us a message on IG, we’d love to talk!

I’m seeking band mates!!
(Either as creative collaborators, session musicians, or live performance support)
I am a singer songwriter and producer (artist name is Jochulina) and I make emotionally charged yet playful hyper pop music. Some artists I'd compare myself to are Grace Ives, Magdalena Bay, Coco and Clair Clair, Charli xcx, FKA twigs, Jordana, or Billie Eilish.
I released my debut EP about a year ago and I am looking to expand my sound to write new music and perform live with support from a drummer, guitarist, bassist, and/or keyboardist.

Creating meaningful connections in town
Hey there!
My name is Tristan Damron. I'm a gigging singer/songwriter and software engineer here in Portland. You might have seen me at one of the many open mic nights around town, or at one of my shows... but likely, you've never heard of me. I've been fully immersed in the music scene both in SoCal and Portland for about 3.5 years, and one thing I've always struggled with is how the larger music scene tends to be a bit insular; it can be hard to meet people outside of your bubble. Don't get me wrong: I've got a wonderful little group of musician friends here, but I want to connect with as many people here as I can. I can only guess that I'm not alone in that.
I wanted to take a stab at solving this problem, so I created a social media website for musicians called Songbook.live. Sites like Instagram and Facebook have really let me down over the years by algorithmically filtering my content, making it very difficult to find other artists outside of my immediate circle. I designed Songbook.live to solve this problem with the following design tenants:
- No algorithm.
- No engagement farming (no likes on posts, no followers/friends, no stream counts).
- No AI generated content (if you post AI-generated content on the site I'll immediately ban you).
- No global competition. Your feed is tailored to your city. When you sign up for an account, you'll choose a city. All of the content you see on the site will be from users in your city. Functionally, everyone in your city is already your friend!
Despite these design restrictions, the site has a bunch of features that you can use:
- Photo, video uploads.
- Direct messaging.
- Posts + comments.
- Music uploads.
- Email notifications.
- Snazzy looking profile pages.
- A radio player at the bottom of the page that shuffle plays music uploaded by musicians in your city.
- Separate accounts for venue owners to register their businesses (might be good for helping artists manage and book gigs?)
The site is still in Beta, but I've been showing it off to my friends at Starday, Covert Cafe, and Laurelthirst and there are about 15 users on the site right now. If you're interested in joining, I'd love to see you on Songbook.live! Here's a link: https://www.songbook.live/
If it's not your thing, I still want to expand my circle. Here are my links, if you want to stay in touch/meet up at a show or open mic:

Guitar Player looking for a band/people to jam with
Hey y'all, I'm moving to Portland on June 1st and I'm looking to get right into a new musical project and make some new friends. My tastes are all over the place, I'm pretty open minded. I'm 30, male, Sober. been playing since I was 7. Have a degree in music recording with a minor in jazz guitar, for what that's worth.
Genres: again, all over the place. But I'd be interested in;
doom metal, stoner rock: Stuff like Red Fang, Kyuss, Sleep, The Sword, Electric Wizard. I currently play and sing in my own original doom metal band, so that's probably most in my comfort zone.
Deathcore: I have an 8 string guitar and would love to play in a super down tuned crushing heavy band. Influences, Fit For An Autopsy, The Acacia Strain, All Shall Perish (I know it's hardcore not deathcore don't nitpick me). Also open if you're a more proggy band, I like a challenge, as long as it's heavy.
Neo Soul: yeah, like I said, all over the place. I really like Neo-Soul and Future Soul. Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, Digable Planets, Thundercat, Hiatus Kaiyote, Alfa Mist, Tom Misch. That kind of stuff. My background is mostly metal, but I've really been wanting to branch out. I love bands that incorporate hip hop and jazz using live instrumentation.
The Mighty Missoula - Breath of Mazama (Mount St. Helens Archival Footage)
Today marks the 46th anniversary of the Mount St. Helens eruption.
We pulled together some archival footage from the 1980 eruption and paired it with “Breath of Mazama” from our latest album Ghost in the Mountain. The whole record was heavily inspired by the volcanic landscapes of the Cascade Range here in the Pacific Northwest.
Thought some of you fellow post-rock explorers might appreciate this one.
Reggae/ska punk show
Hey portland people! I used to be a lot like most, scornful of ska and associating it all with Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtracks and mozzarella sticks. You get it. I would have never considered myself someone who would enjoy ska music.
Well. In October of 2025 I was invited to see the Cherry Poppin Daddies at Dante's with my friends. Sure. I showed up early and the very first band that played absolutely blew me away. I quickly realized I had an incredibly narrow view of ska. I got into Jamaican ska, rocksteady and roots reggae. Now these are my absolute favorite genres of music. I can't get enough. My catalyst was this band, the Georgetown Orbits. They're really great musicians. No one tell them I said any of this or I'll look goofy.
If you like ska, you should come see them. If you think you don't, like I did, but have an open mind, you should also come see them. Maybe they'll change your mind like they did for me. I promise, the musicianship on display tonight will be evident to anyone with ears. The Skylarkers are also top notch, easily one of my favorite portland bands. Our DJ, Honey-D, is an excellent musician and songwriter. These are all people who have inspired me to create and play in my own ska band (Hand Stuff). Not only that, they are willing to let us be on a bill with them. I'm incredibly honored.
These are great people. I hope some of you see what I see in them. GTO is coming all the way down to Portland from Seattle just because I asked them to. Really cool of them. Anyway yeah come to our show! June 20th, 2026. Doors at 8pm. World Famous Kenton Club. $15
Crowd performers, etc
Looking for performers to provide some color in and around the crowd at an outdoor concert. Could be a lot of different things: balloon animals, jugglers, mimes, costumed dancers with giant paper mache heads that slowly filter in during the music and dance, that kind of thing. Daytime vibe, families, kids, on the grass.
How do you find performers like this?
