Looking to pick up drinks and some snacks omw to my hotel. Any casual liquor stores + grocery stores around the Plaza la Isla area? I’d love to hit up a Walmart lol but seems like that’s more in the city :(

There doesn’t seem to be any direct routes to Hotel Westin but Plaza La Isla is a stop and seems like it’s only a 4 minute walk away. If anyone’s been - that road isn’t a highway or anything is it because the driving route between those two loops around.
We seem to be really honed in on the per contract atm so not sure if this is the vibe rn but I’m a new grad that recently started on a team that’s VERY quiet and everyone kind of keeps to themselves, and I’m having a little trouble meeting people.
It’s so quiet I feel bad opening up and eating my snacks lol - safe to say no one’s really chatting it up in there. I was a SA a little while back and it was a completely different vibe and I loved it. My cubicle was in the middle of the office so I had foot traffic around me and people to say hi to, and I do sit in a corner now, so I think that’s part of what’s throwing me off. It’s also a bit of an older crowd around me and we don’t do like daily meetings or anything so it’s been harder to meet and network with even the people around me.
It hasn’t been too long since I started, but thinking long term, if I’m gonna stay, I’m gonna need to start making friends. I’m seeing groups of younger people get together for lunch how do I infiltrate 😭 Are they like a SUNY group? I’m gonna start saying hi to people in elevators I’m getting desperate here.
To any other new grads on here if there’s no one around your age on your team how are we meeting people? I get that work isn’t necessarily meant to be a place to socialize, but sometimes you just need someone to go on a walk with here and there or eat lunch with.
I have a valid rx and am on my last monthly pair. I have my exam coming up in about a month and then I’m assuming it’s going to take like 2 weeks for them to ship my next supply of contacts to me and I just don’t want to keep wearing this pair for that long. I stopped by my eye place today and they said if I order through them now then I can’t order again if my prescription changes by the time my exam comes around - it sounded like a whole thing lol. I didn’t think to specifically ask them about a trial pair, but I have astigmatism, so they usually have to order trials specifically for me. I’m gonna try asking tomorrow but everywhere I’ve looked sells min 3 mo supply and I literally need a single pair of monthlies to bridge the gap. I also don’t wanna be stuck w contacts that aren’t the right rx anymore either. Anywhere I can order on my own?
