Cosm Detroit
Was looking at the schedule for the new Cosm location in Detroit. Apparently they’re a bunch of scUM slappies because not a single MSU game is slated to be shown but hell you can watch Alabama vs Florida!

My partner bought sunscreen at ulta in May ahead of the upcoming sunny summer. She had used this brands face sunscreen before and really liked the fact that it felt less oily than other sunscreens. She decided to pick up a bottle from the same brand for the body this time. We used this sunscreen and went out on a boat for a few hours today and were only in the sun a fraction of the time, both of us are now extremely red which led to her checking the expiration date of the bottle which in my defense is in tiny text. Sure as shit, the bottle is expired by almost 3 years. To say I’m mildly infuriated is an understatement and my partner is already at a higher risk of melanoma. Screw you Ulta!
Parent plus consolidation submitted 06/09, 10 day waiting period waived on 6/14. Agent from Aidvatage says for the July 1 deadline, the consolidation request being processed is equivalent to disbursement in terms of meeting the deadline. Seems like conflicting information from what I’ve seen on here. Current servicer before consolidation is Nelnet, selected Nelnet to continue to service consolidation loan, agent said that has no bearing on timing. What is the right answer here, I’ve now been told by at least 3 separate agents that I will meet the deadline however I’m still skeptical.
Singe mother household all throughout my life, lots of financial difficulty growing up and pain watching my mom work tirelessly while never catching up in this cruel world. Sought out to do a little better myself and though I’ve got pretty substantial student loans, I also make almost six figures. Current setup is 8% contribution to Roth 401k, company matches 6% to traditional and gives an automatic 4% for a total of 18% annually contributed. Plan to keep increasing 1% annually and adjust for life events.
Is it too late? I’m just now finding out about this July 1 cutoff and feeling pretty hopeless at this point. I didn’t consolidate in the past because I thought it may have been more expensive to do so but feel like such an idiot now. What are the ramifications if I consolidate now and it isn’t disbursed in time for the deadline? I’m on graduate extended repayment now and worried my payment would balloon? WTAF is wrong with these politicians.
Submitted a BVA virtual hearing request January 2024 to contest the decision not to award backpay further than a year from date of application. Wondering what kind of timeline I’m looking at to get in front of a judge. I turn 26 at the start of 2027 and my father was awarded a rating of 100% P&T in 2017 dating back to 2014 so this is really the only avenue I have left when it comes to recovering unused benefits in the amount of roughly $25k. I did complete my schooling so certifying eligibility for the full benefit term is not an issue.
So I have been thinking about starting a booth business with one of my good friends as a side gig to our corporate jobs. I currently have an iPad Pro 2020 model and mirrorless Sony camera, only thing I’m missing to get up and running is an enclosure.
I am however hesitant to make any type of investment if the industry is too saturated to 1. Make enough profit and 2. Spend time both marketing and working actual events.
If anyone could give me some insight on whether or not it’s worth it to start now, and maybe some tips and tricks you’ve learned as you navigated this - I would appreciate it.
