Advice needed: Running a 2.5h beginner one-shot at a youth camp (Age & Player count?)

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to introduce some kids/teens to TTRPGs at a youth group weekend by running a Mausritter one-shot.

I already have an adventure prepared that fits perfectly into my 2.5-hour time slot. To make the most of our limited time, I plan to use pre-generated characters and start the adventure directly in media res, skipping any lengthy introductions or tavern scenes.

However, since I'm running this for complete beginners, I still have two questions and would love your input:

  1. Target Age: What age range would you recommend offering this to?
  2. Group Size: How many players should I take at most? I really want to make sure that everyone gets enough spotlight and has the chance to actively contribute to the story.

Any other tips for running Mausritter in such a short slot for absolute beginners are also highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Dice Tray

Since I sometimes still have trouble finding the right die when they're all piled up together, I printed this tray. Do you guys have the same problem? The d16, d14, d20, and d24 are especially hard to tell apart.

What a game!

I recently started playing Ironsworn and I'm thrilled. Until now, solo RPGs were just a matter of rolling dice for me—stories never really emerged from them. Now I'm already playing my second character and have experienced so much. What a game! 😊

Lens Hood für 23mm F1.4 R

I really like the square lens hoods on my Fuji lenses (35mm f/1.4 and 18mm f/2) because I not only think they look great, but I also find them to be good protection against bumps. I recently got the 23mm f/1.4, which is already quite large and long on my X-E5. Does anyone have experience with a compatible square hood for this lens? Is it still easy to handle, or is it just too long? How much longer does it make the lens? I was thinking of this hood:
