Clarity on what is okay and what isn't

Hey again, still navigating this. No real improvements or worsening since the initial diagnosis - still walking, sitting, standing, peeing and pooping, slightly ataxic with walking but seems to be able to feel her feet.

We were advised no running, jumping on/off furniture, stairs, or playing with our other dog. However, she loves to stand on her hind legs and rest her front paws on your legs to receive pets and this is something she's always done so I'm finding it hard to prevent her from doing that, particularly when she's excited, she keeps trying and has to be restrained which I worry could be bad as well. She also likes to stand on her hind legs on the couch to look out the window. Is that sort of movement also bad or is it more specifically the impact involved in jumping on/off furniture?

IVDD insight, please

Hey everyone. Just looking for clarity and I hope this is allowed. For clarity, I have two dogs, one of whom is 13lbs and the other is 23lbs. They were playing earlier, not rambunctiously at all from the sound of it but we didn't have eyes on them at the time, and Bella, 23lb fox terrier, let out a shriek and then was dragging her hind legs for a couple of minutes, and also peed a little bit. Then she started walking semi normally again but a little awkward/hunched. We took her to the emergency vet and they suspected a slipped disc. They weren't able to do much of a physical check (she didn't react to pressing on her spine at all), and she wasn't cooperating with having her feet checked. She's very anxious at the vet. They injected her with painkillers and a sedative to do an x-ray and there was one disc that looked slightly narrower than the others. The vet said we could monitor at home or take her for surgery. The surgery is $15k and we don't have insurance. We decided to monitor at home for now and see if she worsens. Moreover, the vet that she recommended we see for the surgery is an hour and a half away, and it's already 10pm.

We are home now, for about an hour, but she's still super high from the sedative and I am panicking not knowing if we are doing anything right. She can't seem to get comfortable but she's too high to walk or stay balanced when sitting. Her mouth is agape and she's drooling. She won't take food. She's very tense. I don't know what is because of the sedative or if she is just worsening. I am terrified thinking of her ending up paralyzed because of our own desire to monitor before jumping to surgery.

Also, is a slipped disc always IVDD? The vet never mentioned the disease, but it is on her discharge papers.
