Should I switch from donation-based to paid price for my released game?

So two weeks ago, I released a game, it's a single player adventure / investigation game of sort. It has multiple way to solve a task and those can leads to different outcome, the game also has multiple endings and variants depending on how the player does. I've been solo developing this for a while.

For the first few versions, I set it as donation-based. There isn't any thing from public yet, and I think it is not indexed, but I sent the game to some of my colleagues. They do like it and told me to think about making it a paid title.

I planned to remove the current donation-based version, then upload a newer one, which I would set at $2.99. And as I fill in improvements to graphics, animation and music, I might increase it eventually to $3.99 depending on the quality I manage to achieve.

Should I do that? Game in question: https://khpastue.itch.io/ankarons-errand-a-flora-research-mishap

I've just released a little investigation/story game I made in my free time. Looking forward for some feedback if you are interested in this.

This is a little game I did in my free time, it is still work-in-progress, as in it needs various polishing. I've published on August 2. Since the game is not indexed, I figured I should do things to promote it while waiting.

I'm a programmer at a game company, but got assigned to an old game with few chances to do something new. So I decided, "Maybe I should do something I want to make". So there it is.

  • It is a story game, where player controls the little boy, going around, interact with stuffs and people. The main thing to do is looking around for clues and coming up with solutions for his tasks.
  • Technically the game is linear with 3 acts, so to speak. But in each act, players are free to wander around and do things however they want, and there are multiple ways to solve a task, each with different outcomes. So it is a "branching story" of some sort.
  • The game has an achievement system, which I see it as a list of challenges to clear for effort.

If anyone is interested, then here is the link: https://khpastue.itch.io/ankarons-errand-a-flora-research-mishap, where you can download and play, and give some feedback =). If not, then can I have some opinion? Like how is art and looks of the game, just based on the screenshots alone, see if I can still fix or improve it.
