Melbourne Psychiatrist
Hi all,
I (35m) have started my journey to get assessed for ADHD.
Both of my brother's have been medically diagnosed ADHD and the indicators have started to pile up and affect my work, personal life and study, so I know it's time to get this looked at.
The company my GP referred me to was The Evallies, but left my referral open so I was able to shop around.
After calling The Evallies it became apparent that they were far outside of my price range, between 3-5k total to get assessed and review appointments etc.
I am prepared to spend the money to have individualised care, but was not expecting the cost to be THAT high.
Does anyone have any good recommendations in Melbourne that won't absolutely destroy my bank account? My GP said that we could also go down a telehealth route that is less individualised but cheaper, but she recommended that the face-to-face services provided better patient care.
A few questions:
Is The Evallies worth the cost in the long run? Has anyone got any experience with them at all?
Is this pricing normal for psychiatric services in Victoria?
Is individualised care the better option? Or will something more generic serve until I can afford it?
