Cassie and Gregory parallels

I have a question: what’s the current view on Gregory and Cassie, especially Cassie?

Gregory feels like an obvious parallel to BV/CC or Dave, depending on which name you use. But what about Cassie? Her name is extremely similar to Cassidy’s obviously (and it could easily be her real non-shortened name).

This was really talked about a lot when Ruin first released, but I don’t really hear people bring it up much anymore.

So, are Gregory and Cassie meant to parallel BV and Cassidy?

And if Cassie’s name and personality are lore-relevant, and a direct connection to Cassidy, could that be used as evidence that Cassidy is a girl? Because if these parallels are intentional, it could also support GoldenDuo, or at least suggest that Cassidy and CC had some kind of connection, either before death, after death, or both.

What do you guys think? I'd love to hear...
