💰Would you pay more for a game on Switch 2 for a physical release that had to fit on 2 game cards?

Rather than paying less for a digital purchase or game key card?
Like PS1 had some big games on multiple discs. If paying more meant you could have a physical game, but it had to fit across 2 game cards, would you be ok with that?

Ready to Raid!🫟🔫

Do Splatoon vets mostly prefer to play using a pro controller or individual joy cons? I’m getting used to the motion controls, I like them so far.

Have you played Streetdog BMX on Switch 2?

I was looking at recent releases on the eshop, and saw this game. I almost scrolled past it, but decided to look it up, and this video makes it look like chill fun. I am looking at Denshattack! too. That demo is fun. Either game is $19.99 on eshop

Best rear view mirror adhesive repair kit for 4th Gen?

The rear view mirror dropped on my 2003 Limited runner. Do you all have a go-to kit for this? I’ve seen brands like Permatex, but there are number of choices.

This is a fun NeoGeo watch

I’ve never watched anything from this channel before, but this video was interesting, and fun (to me). I’ll probably never get to visit Japan, so watching these guys go from retro shop to retro shop in Japan, and go over all these NeoGeo finds is a treat.

I wanted to share it here, and hopefully others enjoy it like I did.

NeoGeo game tradition👾🪖🥋⚾️

The original game library for NeoGeo is arcade games. Games you can have a brief play at and enjoy. If AES+ is adopted by enough gamers that new games for the system greatly increase, do you care if those new games stick to the arcade-style tradition of the NeoGeo MVS/AES game library, or do you want to see a variety of game genres added that never would have been in the original NeoGeo run? Examples would be lengthy rpgs, or games that wouldn’t fit on an arcade play style.

Personally, I’d look to play lengthier games on other platforms. If there is an influx of new games developed for NeoGeo, I hope we see new games that stick to the arcade play style. That’s what I’m looking for when I play the ACA NeoGeo games (and the same would apply for games on AES+). Games I can pick up, play, and put back down easily.

🎮What controller are you using for ACA NeoGeo fighting games on Switch 2? (more context in post)

First off, I’m so happy to have access to the ACA NeoGeo games. Getting to play these classics on my Switch 2 docked or portable with CRT filter options, and the ability to create saves is awesome! For non-fighting games, the Pro 2 works fine. For fighting games, especially ones that high difficulty against the CPU, there are too many missed directional inputs trying to use the Pro 2. I do have SNES wireless controllers I can try out. What are the rest of you Switch ACA NeoGeo players using? I need something better for NeoGeo fighters if I’m going to beat FF3.

Are there any good tutorial videos for FF3? Stage 7 Han Fu is decimating me for 2 weeks now

At this point I can’t get by anymore with general fighting game experience. I need to learn the way of FF3. EDIT: Hon Fu

🤔How NeoGeo are you?

I’ll gear this question to AES and MVS owners. I’m going to assume that you also own other consoles or game on PC. For your gaming time, how big a slice of that pie goes to your AES?

There’s a difference between collecting a retro console for the sake of collecting, and actually putting that console into regular gaming use.

Which of these combos is going to be your most used AES+ setup? (Poll)

Nostalgia vs convenience. I don’t own a CRT, and unless I found a great deal I won’t be getting one. I pre-ordered the standard AES+ so I’ll play wired until I can splurge on a second arcade stick (the extras come with a way to play wireless or wired)

Another Wife’s Stamp of Approval!

We just beat Spin Master in one sitting, and my wife kept commenting on how fun this game is, and that she loves the graphics. “No really, they’re good!”

Brief game that is hectic yet stress-free at the same time. Absolute replay value for us. It’s just fun! What a gem.

Who can say they bought an AES brand new in the ‘90s, and still have it today? Please, share your NeoGeo story🎁

I like to read your NeoGeo histories

💣Didn’t know this existed

I’m a Bomberman fan, and I just found out there was a Bomberman released for MVS back in ‘97. For those that have the MVS cart, how is this Bomberman release? I’d be so happy to see this release on AES+ or even as a ACA release.

AES skills, Candy Cabs, and your NeoGeo start

NeoGeo start - My first intro to NeoGeo was MVS and seeing the AES at Babbages or Software Etc as a kid. I didn’t actually know the terms MVS or AES until I joined this sub. I never knew anyone fortunate enough to own an AES, and to this day I’ve never played one. What had me circle around to NeoGeo was the ACA ports I started buying on the cheap for Switch a couple of years back. Once I found out about Garou, I found this sub. (The Switch has been a great place to play NeoGeo games) I have a few ports on Steam too, and that is where I use my arcade stick, but most of my time playing NeoGeo ports is on Switch 2. Of course I cannot wait for the AES+ so I can get an idea of what playing NeoGeo has been like for those of you that grew up collecting.

AES Skills - Those of you that can repair broken AES consoles, how did you learn? It’s interesting to me

MVS Candy Cab would be my choice if I could ever own a MVS arcade cabinet. I just like the aesthetic

Anyhow, please share if you want to

This game is just so good, yet so punishing👊

The music, the graphics, the backgrounds, Fatal Fury 3 delivers. Such a fun game to play, but I’m not fantastic at it so the CPU regularly sends me flying. I need a good tutorial for this one. I’ve owned the ACA port of this game for years, but hadn’t really sat down, and spent time with it.

All the sprites

Hardware and Software future. I don’t know enough about hardware to say what would be current tech requirements to be the top dog at running 2D sprite games with zero consideration for 3D graphics. No 3D at all.

Hardware - What would the build of a new NeoGeo that stuck to the OG tradition of 2D sprite games require? (or does the AES/MVS already max out 2D sprite potential?) Back when the AES was first made, there were things it would do better than everyone else in the 2D game space, but they were not competing to develop the same type or style of games as the others at the time. Would a new 2D sprite based hardware beast be able to do anything that a current gen console or PC couldn’t already do? (I don’t know if the architecture differs in capability, or if the common graphics cards/chips of today are really just all-around masters, regardless of the graphical style.)

Software - In a new NeoGeo game library, would you want the games to be strictly arcade style in size, or would you want to be able to play longer style games as well (like a long wordy 2D rpg)?

Would you want a next NeoGeo at all?

(I imagine this topic has been discussed before, I hope discussing it now is cool with the rest of you)

NeoGeo games my wife will play with me

My wife is not really a video game person, but she will play a co-op game with me if I find something good (usually that would be a Bomberman game). Today she tried out Zupapa and Big Tournament Golf with me. She likes both games! Zupapa for arcade fun, and golf for a relax and play experience. I hope Zupapa gets a AES+ release, but if not we will be perfectly fine playing the ACA release on Switch 2. I love this about NeoGeo games, so many of them are easy to just pick up and play, and offer 1 or 2 player.

🕹️AES owner’s question

For those of you that own an AES. I finally pre-ordered an AES+ yesterday, and I have a question regarding 3rd party arcade sticks. I have a Mayflash F300 Elite that I customized to match the button color layout of MVS cabs. Does the AES work well with usb third party sticks using a 15 pin adapter? Is there a method you recommend? I’m hoping I can play two player without having to buy a 2nd official stick straightaway. I love the customized F300. It’s chonky, and the upgraded buttons and joystick are great for playing NeoGeo titles. (I use the red ball top, like the Japanese MVS cabs. I think most here prefer the red bat top though )

Would you expect AES+ pre-orders to sell out?

It would be nice if I could buy at release.

🏆What order would you put these ACA NeoGeo sports games in? Most Fun to Less Fun

I’m looking at the ACA library for another NeoGeo classic. Sports games aren’t my usual pick, but NeoGeo sports games deliver because they are jump-right-in arcade focused fun. I love Big Tournament Golf, and these others caught my eye. Games pictured are: Super Sidekicks, Stakes Winner 2, League Bowling, Baseball Stars 2, Soccer Brawl, and Football Frenzy.
