Raising the handlebar
I recently purchased this Bike Friday NWT(?) and am trying to adjust it to fit me.
The horizontal saddle-to-handlebar distance seems good and the saddle was easily raised to the correct height. I now want to raise the handlebar by approximately 4” (10 cm) to be at the same level as the saddle, but the short quill stem is already raised as far as its minimum insertion mark allows.
What are my options and what do you suggest:
- Buy a longer quill stem on eBay (22.2 quill diameter per inscription on the stem, assuming 1” bar clamp and will confirm with calliper)
- Contact Bike Friday with the frame number and ask for a longer riser
- Any other suggestions?
I am not experienced with bike maintenance, but am willing to learn in order to make this my daily bike. If you see any other issues or have suggestions, feel free to comment.
Thanks in advance.
