The Eau De Nothing chronicles -Part 2

The Eau De Nothing chronicles -Part 2

Okay, I fell for the hype. And honestly, Whiskey Smoke is a banger, so I can’t even be mad about that one. But the rest of this experiment? Financially irresponsible.

Blue Curse — Turns out, the curse is actually on the person who bought it.

The opening is basically an alcoholic explosion, and then… nothing. Gone. Vanished. Reduced to a faint memory. They’ll tell you there are notes of water lily and white musk, but my nose apparently has been blacklisted from the fragrance industry.

₹300 down. Never to be recovered.

Sea Borne — Synthetic pineapple. That’s the review.

A loud, artificial pineapple blast in the opening, followed by absolutely nothing. Another ₹300 sacrificed to the alcohol gods.

So here I am, once again, wondering:

Why do I keep doing this to myself?

I see hype.

I see a ₹300 price tag.

I lose all critical thinking.

Apparently, this is my fragrance journey now. 🤡

Indian Houses Part-7

So, I finally fed the social media algorithm monster and ordered from Arabian Aroma. Honestly? I expected to open the box and be hit with the scent of cheap rubbing alcohol and immediate regret.

Instead, for ₹299–₹499 , these juices are actually… sophisticated? No synthetic chemical warfare here—you can actually smell the individual notes.

1.Emperor

The Vibe:Royalty on a budget.

The Scent: It’s ridiculously subtle—it doesn't scream for attention, it just whispers expensive secrets. The lavender and coconut combo is a marriage that shouldn't work on paper but absolutely slaps in reality. Dries down into a cozy, musky hug.

The Verdict: Lasts 5+ hours. At this price point, buying this feels legally questionable. It’s a straight-up heist.

Score:4/5

2.Rider

The Vibe:A rugged biker who secretly mummy's gulaab-jamuns

The Scent:Opens with a chaotic but delightful slap of zesty bergamot and sweet raspberry. Then it gets a little spicy with cardamom before finally parking itself in a smooth, leathery dry-down.

The Verdict:A bit on the sweeter side, but the price-to-performance ratio is immaculate.

Score:3.5/5

  1. YSL-Y

The Vibe:9-5 but classy

The Scent: A vibrant, aggressive citrus and pineapple opening that says, "Look at me, I'm productive!"before settling into a very safe, respectable woody finish.

The Verdict:Found it. This is my official corporate camouflage from now on.

Score:4/5

  1. Sauvage

The Vibe: The "bad boy" who still visits his grandmother on Sundays.

The Scent:Violently peppery and citrusy right out of the gate. But once it calms down, it morphs into a deeply nostalgic, woody *khus-khus* vibe.

The Verdict: It loses a bit of steam later on, but it gets massive brownie points just for the sheer drama of that opening sequence.

Score:3/5

5.Viking

The Vibe: The undisputed heavyweight champion of the box.

The Scent:Citrus? Yes. Spice? Yes. Wood? Yes. It does everything, everywhere, all at once, and it does it flawlessly.

The Verdict: Longevity and performance are out here absolutely flexing on the competition. This is easily my favorite of the lot.

Score:4/5

Usually, cheap clones smell like a lab accident, but these actually let you transition through the notes like a proper fragrance. My wallet is currently sweating because I'm definitely going back for round two.

Indian houses Part 6- Just Herbs

Let’s be real: at these prices, I wasn’t expecting a private blend from a niche house. I was expecting a science experiment.

1.Forest Wood-The opening is… aggressive. It’s oily and slightly nauseating, like a lumberjack who’s been working a deep fryer. But wait! Give it a minute to calm its soul and it settles into a decent woody vibe. For ₹90? I’ve spent more on a bad cup of coffee. It’s a total steal if you can survive the first five minutes.3/5

  1. Moss and Musk

Total "Expectation vs. Reality" moment here. The bottle promised mint and pepper; my nose received absolutely nothing. Eventually, a synthetic sandalwood. Also, where is the musk? Is the musk in the room with us right now?

The Verdict: About as musky as a glass of water.2/5

  1. Salt and Sand

It opens like a salad and ends with a faint whisper of wood. The longevity is non-existent—blink and you’ll miss it—but the scent is actually pretty unique for this price bracket.A short-lived summer dream.2.5/5

₹270 for three bottles. Honestly, they get a full 1-star pity bonus just for being cheaper than my lunch. Stay fragrant , my friends. 🫣
