The Resurrection of Funk
Don't get me wrong, there's a couple of OK songs on this album, but anyone else having a hard time getting into this?

If there is a third track from Timeless released, before August 28th, what will it be?
I say 'The Guilty One'
What if 'Timeless' was actually OK?
What if 'Fams' appreciated what we have?
What if so called fans would stop crying?
What if we shared his music old and new?
What if we played it loud and proud?
What if... Indeed!
Third Finger Down, Peace and B Wild!
Don't get me wrong it's a very good album and I am happy it exists, but why is there an almost rabid obsession with this album?
Most of the songs are kind of short compared to previous works. And it's overall sound is niche. Maybe that's why? Or is it the tie to the movie which in the grand scheme I enjoy more than Purple Rain?
Don't come at me, just curious is all!
Love to two instrumentals and the extended 💜 or $ too.
Saw this and was like "Wait, what???" Turns out to be fake... Thankfully?!?! Bottle looks cool and remember the parental units having unique shaped booze bottles back in the day. But the crazy ish that keeps popping up... Could you imagine🤪🤣
(Held this post until after Celebration so as to not project negative vibes into the Ether.)
TIMELESS is literally an 'officially released' collection of vault tracks, which is what we keep asking for, and yet for some reason not even 24 hours after the announcement, the crying started... again...
All this crying, screams Entitlement syndrome! And it's getting so old at this point. If you don't like the idea of the 'Timeless' release, so be it and you can simply 'choose not to choose' and not buy it!
However, in theory, this type of release is not a bad idea as it gets the music out, without having to spend a small fortune either for the seller or the buyer. While the SDE releases, admittedly great, are not a problem for some, the cost of a release like Timeless, especially in these current times, is far easier to handle for the average person.
The list of names performing at Celebration is interesting but what's more interesting are the names that are missing, specifically Wendy, Matt Fink, Micheal B. and Tommy Barberella. Oh to be the fly on the wall.
Also wonder why no 3EG inclusion.
Strictly out of curiosity, I'm wondering based on posts / comments, what generations we fall into as well as the year started listening / became an absolute fan. I'll go first: Gen X, first time hearing 1982, die hard fan 1984.
If thus kind of post is not allowed please remove and my apologies.
Dearly Exhausted,
We are gathered here today to get through this thing called The Estate.
In it's current state it stands for poor planning and excuses and all while pointing fingers at US! Ain't that a bitch!
But I'm here to tell you, there's something else... Shut up already. Damn! Ain't nothing else!
The Vault ain't FREE and the Parade we're waiting for will not be televised today, maybe never.
We're at the merci of a couple of sad clowns and their own 'S' &'M' groove that continues to leech all the shades of the purple rain.
Give what they want and we'll take what we get! Happy, or not, but never truly satisfied! But hey what about that Around the World In a Day suitcase? Am I right?
Maybe one day, it'll all work out in the wash but for now I'll just watch the thieves running round, playing their silly games.
Good or bad, this will all come to pass, so live in the moment, cherish what we already have, and share it with anyone willing to listen, so they have something to look forward to... Think about the Future!
