Is this offside?

Is this offside?

I am the coach of the white team. I am not upset by this call, it was literally the last minute of the game and we were winning 5-2 so it was not super meaningful, but I am embarrassed to admit that in the moment I wasn't sure exactly what the rule was when it comes to deflections. The ref said immediately after this video ended that any deflections or hitting the post would reset the offside position call which is not how I understood things at all. Looking it up now as far as I can tell he was wrong, but I am just looking for a sanity check to see if I am missing something.

For what its worth it's pretty borderline if my player was onside when the initial kick was made either way so, again, not super bothered, just more looking to understand.
