Can’t downgrade my Amex gold card

I just called customer services because I want to downgrade my gold card, the representative said the best option was to move to the rewards card but then he went on to say that option isn’t showing up. I’ve had the card about 5 years now and I never really intended to keep paying for it after my first year but here we are!

The only alternative I was given was to upgrade to platinum (lol), so where do I go from here? I have 40,300 points - I guess I’d need to transfer them somewhere and then close my account? Where’s the best place to transfer them to? I was thinking BA but I’m in the process of buying a flat so not sure there will be much travel on the cards any time soon. Thanks so much for any help or advice :)

Sorry, I feel like this is a question that's asked a lot but I can't find anything for my specific request.

I have £800ish to spend on a new TV, it'll be paired with the newest Apple TV box and I also have a Switch 2 I'll likely be using with it. I don't know much about TVs so not bothered if it's not a brand new model.

However, I have seen some screens have a coating that stops glare/makes them suitable for use in bright rooms – that's something that ideally I'd want, especially after living with a TV that was impossible to watch in the summer/during the day because the picture was so bright.

I'm leaning towards Samsung or LG, but any thoughts or opinions please let me know! Also looking to buy this weekend if that makes any difference.

Thanks so much!
