Would you trust this? (Nerd out with me)

I have, what I believe, is a proper accessible breakthrough (versions of this exist in academia for research)

What are you looking at? Well this is a comparison of two satelite images and one real time* render

Why does this matter? Winter satelite imagery is incredibly sparse, satellites get a good comp maybe once per month if you’re lucky (and costs THOUSANDS for just a few km) and sometimes outright shit due to cloud cover and snow glare so I built a pipeline that uses real time weather stations + hindcast (not a prediction it uses data from the past, in this case 5 hours old), and then recalibrates with real satellite photos so it can self improve over time.

What’s the gain and what’s my question? While satellite data is maybe once a month if your provider forks the money this is updated HOURLY for a 80% cover accuracy or 24hrs for 97% cover and depth accuracy.

What would you, a backcountry sportsperson need to know/see to be able to trust this as opposed to satellite imagery?

(This is not an ai generated image, it is a geographical and meteorological model)
