Krishna float in the air

This “floating Krishna” at Thrippunithura Atham won 1st prize this year.

The secret? A cleverly welded iron frame hidden under the saree and costumes. The structure was carefully measured, tested for safety, and built to support the 60 kg artist.

Pretty impressive engineering behind the illusion! 🔥

Got a job offer in Central Africa — bimonthly salary + free accommodation, is this normal or a red flag?

Hey all, need some outside perspective.

Got an offer for an IT role in Central Africa.

Details:

~4 yrs experience required, matches my background

Salary paid to NRI account, but bimonthly — i.e., every 2 months, both months' salary together, not monthly

Free shared accommodation, food, medical, laundry

Decent fixed local monthly allowance on top for personal expenses

Flight tickets covered for annual leave (after 11 months)

Package overall seems okay on paper — the "extras" (housing/food/flights) actually add real value. But the bimonthly salary structure is bugging me. Never seen this in any domestic job.

Is this common for African expat postings, or is it a tactic to make it harder for people to leave? Anyone with experience working in Central Africa (DRC, Congo region) who can share how this actually plays out in practice?
