YONDER REFERRAL LINK: https://join.yondercard.com/kzqnnvt

Yonder is a card (credit or debit) currently offering an instant £10 bonus when you sign up and spend £10. You’ll also get 2 months of free “full” membership, which includes perks like worldwide travel insurance. If you’ve got a trip coming up, it’s a solid option.

When signing up, choose the “full” membership, but remember to cancel before the 2 months end to avoid the £15/month fee. But I would also recommend you consider the full, paid membership as the perks are pretty good!

You can pick either a credit or debit card. I’d suggest the debit card. The credit card comes with high interest and only a 15-day grace period, so it may unnecessarily impact your credit score.

There’s also a spending bonus: if you spend between £200 and £1,000 in your first 30 days, you’ll earn 2,000 to 10,000 points. Points are worth ~£0.001 each if taken as cash (£2–£10), but can go much further when redeemed on selected dining, travel, entertainment, or shopping offers. In some cases, that’s effectively around 5% cashback or up to £50 in value.

You can earn 10,000 points per referral if someone signs up to the “full” plan and makes 5 purchases. This can be worth up to £50 for redemption.

There are no foreign transaction fees, and combined with the travel insurance and better redemption rates on flights, it’s particularly useful for travel. I've recently used it in my trip to Japan and it's been really handy.

Feel free to ask if anything’s unclear. Appreciate it if you use my referral link below! :-)

Octopus isn’t just one of those suppliers you switch to for a quick bonus and leave. It’s actually one of the few that’s consistently decent. In fact, I’ve been with them since 2018 and never left. No exit fees (unless on a fixed tariff), customer service is brilliant, and the website interface is fun and easy to use. Nothing feels overly complicated, which is rare with energy companies.

They’ve also got a rewards scheme (Octoplus), which is a nice extra. You sometimes get things like free coffee or discounted cinema tickets, plus “saving sessions” where you earn points for using less energy at peak times. Occasionally they even run free electricity sessions when there’s excess supply. It’s not something I’d rely on, but it’s a decent bonus.

Where it can actually make a difference is the tariffs. They offer options like Tracker (rates change daily with wholesale prices) and Agile (cheaper at off-peak times). These can work out cheaper than standard tariffs, but they’re a bit more hands-on and prices can go up too. If you don’t want the hassle, the normal flexible tariff is fine.

Switching is straightforward and there’s no disruption to your supply.

If you join via a referral, you get £50 credit after your first Direct Debit (usually need to switch both gas and electric). You won’t get it if your property is already with Octopus.
