In case people were wondering. I knew he was going to be way too expensive. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7408532/2026/07/01/blackhawks-bowen-byram-agree-to-6-year-contract-extension-source/
I posted an Avalanche Pro Player jersey I got from EPS a couple weeks ago, the home (white) version specifically. It was noted by a few users that the nameplate material did not match, which I initially didn't notice. I reached out to Terry at EPS and he confirmed that they are technically out of the right material for the white Starter and Pro-Player mesh jerseys. He said they have a newer mesh that matches better, but it is often too white to match the vintage jerseys which tend to yellow slightly over time. So they use a slightly different mesh that is a better color match, but the pattern of the holes in the mesh is different than the vintage pattern. He also said that he would be happy to swap out the nameplate if I sent him a vintage donor jersey to harvest from. So, I snagged a Blues Starter mesh jersey that looks like it will work nicely. He also mentioned that they still have the right material for the away jerseys, which were less popular back when the home jerseys were white. Which is why my burgundy Starter was perfect. Just thought that I would pass the info that was given to me.
From this trail I was able to see 4 of the volcanoes that dot the PNW.
I think I mentioned last summer that I get through the offseason by engaging in my Avs jersey collection addiction. This was my most recent addition, from the one season (99-00) that the team wore jerseys made by Pro Player, which at the time was a subsidiary of Fruit of the Loom if I remember correctly. All teams wore the special y2k patches that season. This was also the season I attended my first and only playoff game, which we lost to Dallas. Fuck those guys.
I have been looking for the right Pro Player authentic to pop up for the last few years. When this blank showed up on the auction site I watched it for a long time waiting for the price to come down a bit. Fortunately I made an offer that was accepted and this beauty was off to EPS. This is going to a part of my Forsberg collection, which is in progress. Once the final 3 jerseys are finished I’ll post the lot.
A little late for this year, but I’ll be ready this fall. I had this custom made since the geniuses at Fanatics probably won’t. All the pieces (2 patches and the hoodie) were picked up reasonably cheap on eBay and then I had the patches stitched.
Big week for EPS deliveries! These were ordered at the beginning and end of February, so not too bad as far as turn around time.
It’s fitting that Peter’s birthday falls in the middle of the playoffs, which was likely his favorite time of the year. RIP, we all miss you!
