Wait…did I do it right or not?

Wait…did I do it right or not?

It marked me wrong but the explanation is telling me that I should have done it the way I did?

Am I tripping or is Duo getting the meaning of “put on” backwards?

I was getting tripped up when Duo tried teaching the phrase “passe le moi” because of the weird English “put him on for me.” I feel like…they’re using the expression backwards?

I think the French sentence means something like, “If Louis calls me, hand me the phone so I can talk to him.”

But if I were to say, “put him on for me,” that would mean like, “Hey you person on the phone, Louis is with you in the room, hand your phone to him for me.” At least as an American that’s the only way I’ve heard this used, and I believe the course is based on American English.

I feel like maybe this is just an AI-generated translation that like read in a learner’s dictionary that the phrase means to hand the phone to someone, didn’t understand how the phrase is used, and got it backwards.

But…have you heard it used like that?

I was eating some organic girl romaine lettuce and it was dark so idk if I might have eaten something but I had rinsed it before but then I took out a piece and saw this bug on it? 6mm long. didn't get the clearest photo and I think it might have been stuck upside down on the lettuce, so I moved it onto paper but that kind might have messed it so idk if mosquito or some other kinda bug 😭🤢

Eta: Siri object recognition thinks it's a euscelidius variegatus, but I don't know if that makes sense? It's hard for me at least to see if it resembles it in the current state. But it also suggested cicada and mosquito sooo... I'm hoping there's a human expert.

American, German, or other?

Found this roach on a sticky trap that was placed near our water heater in the garage (which some distance away there is a sewer access).

The body was roughly 1 inch long, maybe slightly longer (silverfish there for some scale) and it's hard to get a good look at its head, and its back appears covered with some dust or debris.

Our neighborhood has many American roaches in our sewers which I sometimes see walking around outdoors at night. I have also seen a German roach on our front porch a few months ago and two German roach nymphs in our kitchen in early April (used roach gel bait and set traps and roach motels in key areas inside but haven't seen any more).

The body on this roach looks wider than the German roaches I've seen, and it has the really long antennae I've seen on the American roaches, though the body is not as long as most of the American roaches I've seen.

What species would you say this is?

Location is San Diego.

Phone number inexplicably doubles as a search term for my web domain (on Bing)?

I’ve been stumped by this for a while, but on Bing (and search engines that are based on Bing) searching for my personal phone number (USA phone number: area code plus 7 digits without any punctuation) seems to double as a search term for my small online business (web design). The only thing is, my website doesn’t include my phone number anywhere, domain registration is private, and there are no other websites I could find online that mention both my website and my phone number together.

I haven’t used my personal number for communicating with clients, either.

LinkedIn does know both my website and phone number, but it is not displayed on my profile and it is not even my primary number (which this doesn’t happen with).

Microsoft does know my phone number for 2FA and they also do know my web domain as I use their Bing webmaster tools, but that kind of thing shouldn’t bleed into indexing.

I’ve contacted Bing several times about removing web results with my personal information on it, and they have, and I’ve told them to stop bringing up my web domain with my phone number, but nothing changed.

It’s not other websites with information about me, and it’s not the small handful of other websites I also own and host, it’s just this one.

Any insight would be appreciated.
