Hello all! I am currently a fourth year student from the USA studying mechanical engineering, where I am set to graduate this December and head to Sydney for 7 months under the work and holiday visa (subclass 462).

I previously did a study abroad program in Sydney about a year ago, and really enjoyed it. I’m wondering how hard it is to obtain an engineering research position at a university in Sydney, versus trying to apply for full time/temporary positions.

As for my work experience, I have had a total of 3 summer internships, 2 of which are globally recognizable so I hope that it can help boost my credibility in terms of skills and knowledge.

Do companies care if you only have the 462 visa as opposed to permanent residency/citizenship, or is it fine as long as you have valid working rights?

Was looking online for housing for winter semester and stumbled upon this landlord with a website that looked legit and with reasonable prices. Has anyone had experience signing with him and is there anything I should watch out for

Got an M3 about 2 months ago and everything was amazing, including FSD. I was absolutely mind blown and it seemed like it could drive even smoother than me in some instances. Fast forward to now, I feel like 14.3.4 and the updates from maybe 2 weeks back have really downgraded. I’ve noticed some things that maybe I either overlooked when I first got my M3, or really has been pulling my hair:

1. FSD causes me to lane change almost at the last second before an exit or turn, causing me to almost always have to squeeze into the lane that I must be in. Super annoying and I don’t know why it doesn’t just do so automatically earlier when the lane’s open just 0.2 miles behind

2. Had it route me to a supercharger today. 3 were left available, and it pulls into the handicap charger. Not only did it make me look like an asshole because I’m an able bodied adult, but it also parked head-on when it should have backed in. I’m surprised even FSD doesn’t know its own parking configuration for superchargers. I got so embarrassed from FSD that I just went to another supercharger closer to my destination 💀

3. When in parking lots for groceries or food, it tends to take the longest way that includes way more turns and time than the main road. Maybe it’s trying to avoid people and traffic? Idk but it rather take tight corners and inconvenience itself than just take the easiest road out of there
