AIITW for being upset co worker is not getting their CDL?

Some context: job position I have requires us to get a CDL license to operate certain vehicles. Even though I did not want to get my CDL I still did per responsibility of said job position. My co worker and I got hired around the same time, and we both were told eventually we would have to get our CDL’s. When we finally got told to start studying, while I didn’t want to get it, I still sucked it up, passed the written test, and then eventually passed the driving test, because I did not want to get reprimanded for not attempting/finishing it.

My co worker has not gotten theirs “yet”. I say it with quotations because it’s been almost a year since we were told and they haven’t even passed their written test. Now I’m not saying that training for a CDL license is easy, cause it’s not, I failed quite a few times in both sections before I was able to pass.

However, my frustrations come from what my boss had told me. I was told that if said co worker did not pass the written test by the end of May this year, there would be consequences for them (we were told September of last year to start training). May came and past, and it doesn’t really seem like any consequences were given out to them. Now I don’t want to “overstep boundaries” and directly ask if there’s any consequences but I do feel like I already know the answer. One of my other co workers who would be trainer, had told me they stopped asking that co worker if they’ve passed yet because it was always no.

Now I was told by my boss that the co worker would receive consequences after I had expressed my frustration with them not getting it. But it seemed like they were more worried about me not getting my cdl, when I never said I wouldn’t, just the fact I didn’t want to get it, but IS still getting it.

I don’t really think there is any consequences for that co worker as the placements they have been placed in don’t seem like something of a consequence nor are they cut from being full time.

Thank you for advice, clarification or anything else, as I don’t really have too many people to talk about this with.
