Alternator charging at 20v
First is a 65 Cadillac DeVille. So my battery kept dying and got a new one that it needed it was old. Then started a few times and dead so charged it and started fine but was charging 19-20 took to auto parts store the said it was my alternator. ok is old and I have a new one installed it same issue pissed thinking it was the alternator called the place I bought it from and the said it’s a bad regulator great that in the alternator. Fml lol instead found out it’s an external regulator so not pissed at the auto parts store that told me to change the alternator. Not mad figure everything it new so has to work I changed the regulator and ITS THE SAME ISSUE. So there is a lot of ways I can keep replacing 60 year old wiring but wanted to get some thoughts.
