Plastic Cover for Cabin*

*Yes yes, I know how the title reads, and I’m all about the “scratches are badges of honor” and it’s part of owning an aluminum suitcase. However, I’m not asking about normal carry-on activities, I’m referring to when I have to gate-check my bag. This would happen pretty frequently, as my home airport is small and plenty of the flights I take are in the ERJ-145 and CRJ-200.

For context, I forgot about gate checking when I took my gorgeous bronze cabin (with its already-earned scratches from when it fell over as I was wheeling it up the jet bridge) to DC and realized at the counter that I would have to gate check it. The return flight did not go so well; my suitcase came back pretty dinged up and out of alignment (though not enough to cause any issues). I know a cover won’t help with it getting flattened, but it should help with the gashes.

Anyway, short story long, where’s a good place to find a cover? I tried searching the sub; the majority of threads simply say “don’t” and a lot of the links aren’t functional. Thanks!

Can These Initials Be Removed?

I’d like to purchase this passport cover for my husband as he’s a pilot and the dog somewhat resembles ours. However, his initials are not DT. (Also 🫠) These aren’t hot-stamped but screen printed on. Is there a way to remove them safely?
