For context I got the crossbody bag today , and the strap suddenly gave out randomly while I was walking and dented the side of the crossbody, so now there’s a big dent. Can I possibly get a return or a repair for this?

I know that there are already other posts about this topic, but I am seriously torn between purchasing an original or an essential cabin. The classiness and sturdiness of the original cabin appeal to me, but I think I would prefer the zipper on the essential. And then there is the weight dilemma… any suggestions? And does anyone encounter problems with the locks on the original, in comparison with a zip closure? Thanks.

Which model is the most popular or most sold of Rimowa bags. In the luggage category, not accessories. I would guess the original cabin but curious to know your thoughts on this?

*Yes yes, I know how the title reads, and I’m all about the “scratches are badges of honor” and it’s part of owning an aluminum suitcase. However, I’m not asking about normal carry-on activities, I’m referring to when I have to gate-check my bag. This would happen pretty frequently, as my home airport is small and plenty of the flights I take are in the ERJ-145 and CRJ-200.

For context, I forgot about gate checking when I took my gorgeous bronze cabin (with its already-earned scratches from when it fell over as I was wheeling it up the jet bridge) to DC and realized at the counter that I would have to gate check it. The return flight did not go so well; my suitcase came back pretty dinged up and out of alignment (though not enough to cause any issues). I know a cover won’t help with it getting flattened, but it should help with the gashes.

Anyway, short story long, where’s a good place to find a cover? I tried searching the sub; the majority of threads simply say “don’t” and a lot of the links aren’t functional. Thanks!

I have been on the hunt for a Rimowa original cabin for over 10 years, and finally, on my last trip to the UK, I managed to get one.

I'd been eyeing the London flagship exclusive monogram edition, in British Racing Green, as the yellow one for the NYC store looked too washed out.

For the overall finish, it looks like the monogram is anodized green through a screen or mask, rather than it being painted or applied like a sticker. And then the whole two outside shells have a very fine matte finish that looks like it was maybe beadblasted. So it's less shiny than the regular finish. Overall, it's dope.

I know that others on this subreddit think this is too gauche to have a big ass Rimowa logo, but in person, it's large and abstract enough to read as a large graphic, rather than a recognizable LVMH logo.

First time traveling with my ballerina pink cabin bag, and I’m really worried about scratches or discoloration from the overhead bin in planes. The bag is polycarbonate
Do I need to get one of those clear plastic covers to cover it while it’s in the overhead bin?
