I am set on the Trunk Plus in Titanium. Now, I am unsure If I go classic silver for the cabin, or go titanium too. I also loved the black. help!

This Classic Cabin was bought in 2018 from the Lufthansa Worldshop for 460€ + miles at the time (retail was around 700€ back then)

I use it at least twice a month and overall I’m quite satisfied. It’s our only Rimowa from the Classic line, the others are either Essential/Salsa or Topas.

Imo it’s the best looking Rimowa out there, but compared to the Essential it’s not as roomy and of course also very heavy at around 4kg.

The locks are ok, but not as sturdy as the ones that they use for the Original and Hybrid.

The handles are a plus, especially compared to the ones they use for their Polycarbonate suitcases.

The telescopic handle comes down to personal preference. For the repair they chose the one that’s used on the Original Cabin and I personally think it’s a lot sturdier than the old one.

It’s been gate checked a few times by Air Canada and Lufthansa and didn’t sustain any damage just scratches here and there.

Is it worth it?
If you’re looking for a solid value for money suitcase: no
If you like Rimowa and don’t necessarily care about 1300€: yes

It’s nearly 5 years old (I’ve just checked). It’s travelled around the world extensively, only in Business when long hail overnight so far more often in Economy . I’ve never wrapped it, it’s just thrown to the wolves and it does look pretty f**ked but it’s fine structurally.

It evaded an attempt during a 7 hours stopover at Jo’berg airport, they got into my husband’s non-Rimowa case and broke the lock.

I’d prefer zip compartments but it wheels like a dream which I love as I’m small and weedy. I assume it’s a large, - it’s check-in. I bought it from the Bond Street store in London.

I’ve been eyeing up a Rimowa for a while, I travel for work and i’m tired of using my Travelpro (another brilliant brand I should add, just not premium!) for personal travel and then having to repack all my work stuff when I get back.

I was considering a brand new cabin and then started looking at used models a bit more.

Found a used Topas for £450, posted photos of it in the legit check thread on here and the consensus came back that it was genuine, so decided to take a punt.

Yes there’s wear, yes there are scrapes and a few dents, but it’s literally £450-500 cheaper than what I would have picked up a brand new cabin for abroad with a VAT refund.

Anyway, picked it up today and currently in the process of giving it some TLC in the form of a bit of a clean, getting rid of the sticky label residue and getting rid of some oxidisation of the hinges, which have polished up really nicely.

I’m not sure if it’s the bigger or the smaller cabin IATA. If anyone knows the exact model, I would be grateful!

I've got the trunk plus essential then returned it because of the risk of popping the zipper, then I got the aluminum and I'm very happy with it.

I was in between getting the cabin twist or the classic cabin with colourful handles, then I decided for the cabin twist instead. I wish they have more color options

Next one will be Classic check-in M for short trips.

I’m redecorating my home (mid century modern/Scandinavian) and would love to display my 2016 aluminium Rimowa. It’s covered in travel stickers from the last 10 years and has a lot of sentimental value.
Right now it just looks like I haven’t unpacked from a trip. I’d like it to feel like an intentional decor piece instead.
I’m looking for creative, non-destructive ideas since I don’t want to drill into or modify the suitcase. Has anyone done something similar? Photos would be appreciated!

Four years in, a dozen countries and three continents later; still wouldn't try anything else.

Oh! The black classic rolled off the train platform and into the track in Amsterdam with the backpack. Sustained a few dings and scratches! 🤦🏽

I can’t decide between the Nylon or Canvas, anyone that’s used either or both care to share some of the perceived pros and cons of each? Budget not much of a concern as it’s a small difference between the two, mostly want to decide based on aesthetics and longevity. (left one in the photo is nylon, right is canvas)
