Why didn’t they color match the rods on ink blue?
Would love to know why black and titanium get the colored poles but not ink blue with this supposedly being a new permanent color?

Does anyone own a Rimowa Classic Flight Cabin 52MW that’s made in Canada from around 2013?
If so, could you comment if yours has the following features?
Made in Canada and Rimowa wording stamped on all 3 side metal hinges
No flex divider. Only two cross straps (with Rimowa wording on the metal clips).
Rimowa logo (TSA lock side) is on the side handle and not on the opposite side of the leather handle
No Rimowa wording on the wheels (I have an older Rimowa Salsa Air from the early 2010s and the wheels also do not have Rimowa wording on them)
Based on the videos and photos I found online, these features are slightly different (ie flex divider, no Made in Canada stamping, Rimowa Logo opposite the leather side handle) but the videos could be showing a slightly newer version or ones made in Europe. Thanks in advance.
FWIW I was able to register it online and even called a Rimowa store which was able to identify the model based on the Serial Number.
Had a surprisingly tough time choosing between the new Ink Blue and Stealth Black. Ink Blue looked fantastic in person, but ultimately I went with black for both.
Pretty happy with the decision, especially seeing them next to the silver Cabin that’s been collecting miles, memories, and stickers over the years.
Now it’s time to get some wear on the new additions.
Anyone else have a hard time choosing between Ink Blue and black?
The good old prices at Rimowa.
Back then I only paid 326€ for a Classic Flights (378$)
That was in 2017
I have an old Salsa air that I picked up cheaply at Schipol a long time ago. I never really liked it since it felt wobbly with the T-style handle.
I am looking into a new set since I travel a lot, and have my sights on the classic cabin + 1 check in.
The Original trunk S or the original check in M is something that should suffice since I don't like to over pack, and if I'm gone for more than 2 weeks I either find a laundry or do the good old sink wash.
Is the Trunk S suitable for this or would you recommend the regular check in?
Sorry, I know it’s been asked before. I know cosmetically it will get scratches/small dents etc and I’m completely fine with that
My question is, how has it held up for you in regards to major damage that impairs function? I don’t want to visit a store to have it repaired after every couple of flights etc. Specifically asking about the aluminum models, thanks in advance!
I’ve been looking for a nice aluminum carry on. Was pretty set on the new aluminum CF but I went shopping with my wife and got hands on with a RIMOWA trunk and really liked it. Anyone have experience with these two? Will be using it for trips to Europe and Asia a few times a year and maybe some domestic trips around the US. Just looking for some generals advice before I buy.
Can anyone recommend one? I’m based in the US and am hoping to pick up an Alu cabin. I looked at buying new in my boutique and then thought why? It’s going to get banged up. Might as well buy it that way to begin with.
But I know there are a lot of fakes out there and want to avoid that. Also do warranties carry over ?
Hello all.... I've been searching through this subreddit and am finding conflicting answers. I have an original cabin currently and am looking to buy another case but am hoping for one big enough where my original cabin fits into it like Russian dolls for ease of traveling to my first destination. I do not have a store in my area so I am hoping to just buy online.
So question(s):
Does original cabin fit into Trunk S?
Does original cabin fit into Trunk Classic?
Does classic cabin fit into trunk classic?
Thanks in advance friends.
Went with an ink blue cabin today. Really love this color. Apparently it’s been a hit so far at this location with this being the last one. A bit subdued and lowkey in low lighting but really pops when the lights are bright. Decided to pick up some cloud blue wheels and luggage tag for a bit of customization. In person I found myself liking the cohesion of the two tone blue look. Saw someone else eying clementine orange for a bold sporty contrast and the cognac and taupe which looked classy.
Anyway, glad they finally went with soft close handles
Why is the Hybrid Cabin S no longer available, and the Essential Cabin S only offered in one color?
Seems strange since Cabin S fits the carry-on limits of more airlines. Is RIMOWA phasing it out?
Paint on the handle coming off after removing the airline luggage tag sticker :/
Has this happened to anybody else?
Just saw this today! Rimowa classic cabin in silver!
Was packing for a trip and found my suitcase’s combination lock completely stuck — wouldn’t open on any combo I tried, including the one I know is right. Ended up getting in with a generic TSA key I bought on eBay.
Now that I’m in, what are my options to actually fix this so I’m not relying on a random key every time? Reset the combo, replace the lock mechanism, or just swap the whole lock?
Hello!
I have a Classic Flight Multiwheel Trolley 971.63.00.4, bought in Germany in 2015. Now one wheel is broken, and Rimowa wants 25€ per wheel as a spare part. And those wheels aren't even very good.
Now I wonder if maybe other standard wheels fit? Or maybe has made a fitted 3d printed adapted that can be used to attach standard wheels?
Thanks
My amazing wife got me this as a surprise birthday gift - a beautiful silver aluminum original cabin carry-on. It is super expensive though and I feel bad she spent so much on it - over $1,600 incl tax. I‘m on a plane 3-5 times a year, including a couple long-haul flights, and always in economy. What should I do?
- Return it and ask her to get me something nice but not as pricey
- Keep it and offer to pay for half of it myself
- Just keep it enjoy it and appreciate the gift
- Other?
I travel quite frequently and often go cabin only, looking to upgrade my luggage and been eyeing up the cabin original or classic.
My question is this…are these bags really worth it? I dont value brands but I do value quality and comfort. I understand there is a brand premium baked in, but do you owners find the bags are significantly more comfortable to roll around and use day to day? Does the quality justify the price?
Also how good is the customer service? I’ve read there is a lifetime warranty. Does this cover things like cracks/broken telescopic handle etc?
Thanks all!
