took piercing out to heal… BIG bump

hello! this is going to be a bit of a ramble. sorry. seeking advice!

i got my helix pierced (3rd photo has jewelry in & it’s the jewelry i was pierced with) about 4-5 months ago (from rowan… because i figured “nurses piercing? hell yeah!” … hell NO! i know i know my bad) and i planned to keep it in until i got a second opinion from a piercer i trust while i was getting my conch downsized. she told me it was pierced at an angle and that she recommended taking it out to let it heal and then get it pierced again properly once fully healed.

i will not lie, any sort of cartilage piercing has given me problems in the past (my conch previously had a bump and my ear did eat the back once but it’s totally fine now—almost completely healed), but i’ve never had a bump this bad. i’ve also never taken jewelry out with a bump so i’m kind of unclear on what to do. does anyone have any recommendations on how i should go about healing this piercing/shrinking the bump? is it the same process as treating a bump with the jewelry in?

for the bot:
age: 4-5 months (well… 0 now?)
jewelry shape: helix stud curved dangle (?), threadless
downsized: yes, once
routine: hyperchlorous spray, saline spray, & occasionally tea tree oil or pure castile magic soap for bumps
events: none. i am occasionally rolling in my sleep though, so possible side sleeping
