Tourist experience
I just wanted to write this down for anyone looking to visit Sardinia to give them my personal experience of the island. We stayed in the north and the east for 4 days each.
The island is beautiful and beaches are up there with the best I’ve ever visited. It’s as beautiful as the pictures or videos you will have seen.
A lot of the towns are beautiful but a bit tired. There are beautiful parts of most towns. Very similar to most of Europe.
Tourists and locals alike are a bit of a culture shock to me being from in the UK. People will push past you in queues and in public areas. On small coastal paths they will not stop to let anyone through, even elderly/disabled people. When you do go out of your way to allow someone past, do not expect any acknowledgement. I know this is just other cultures valuing different things, but it did start to grate on me after days of it. I think British and American tourists will struggle with this aspect.
Overall we had a good trip but I just wanted people to be aware of this side of the island before they book their trip of a lifetime.
