my AR22 build

(sorry - trying again, my last post didn't have this also as comment)

I recently added a Sig Romeo5 & Magpul AFG (picatinny) to make things more comfortable.

The rest of the build:

  • ATI upper & handguard w/ 16" Taccom stainless & carbon barrel
  • CMMG bcg
  • BoreBuddy buffer plug
  • Black Dog magazines
  • PSA lower
  • FAB Defense folding grip
  • MST Minimalist stock
  • Magpul ESK safety
  • RA-242 trigger
  • Milspec CH

Still to come: Magpul enhanced trigger guard (FDE).

Upgraded to a Microprism (Swampfox Raider)

I had zero issues with my Sig Romeo5 red dot, however, I liked the idea of a backup, etched reticle, if I found myself with a dead battery, and no handy replacement. And I didn't want to put backup irons on it.

The 6MOA illumination of this Swampfox Raider seems good and bright. The etched reticle does require a little more attention (I have to close my left eye to focus on it), but does still work as a backup (I think, not having had a chance to take this to the range yet).

Only downside is that it is a little bit bigger and a little heavier than the Romeo5. I suppose I could consider a more fancy ultralight riser (though some of those are $$$).

Thanks to u/Hot_Pirate9445 I have moved the mount back, and it's made the non-illuminated dot more clear with both eyes open: https://imgur.com/a/brbDfmQ

My Tomtoc family

The 10L is brand new to me. I tend to use the 40L the most for one-bag travel.

The 5.5L pac has been great as a camera sling. My son sometimes uses the 4.5L sling for his Nintendo Switch.

Does anyone have info on the messenger bag (top left)? They seem to have discontinued it, and was just curious about its specs. I take it to office meetings w/ a 16" MBP and accessories.

Huge fan of the brand!

Magpul m-lok rail covers. I hadn't appreciated them in the past, but when it's come to pairing them with an Magpul M-lok AFG, it gives my thumb (on top) and left forefinger an increased grip.

I feel like some hand guards can get a little bit slippery, and this can keep your hand in the right spot, letting you pull your brace into your shoulder.

Parts: AB F-4 can, FAB defense folding pistol grip, Romeo5 red dot, RA trigger, Magpul ESK safety, clone SBA3, KN Design hand guard.

I had heard that some pistols could run the AB F-4 without a booster, but when I tried at the range, I kept getting stovepipes. The first round would fire, but then wouldn't properly eject to load the next round. Perhaps I'll try a few different ammo brands and weights next time.

I got the can primarily for my PCC (Extar EP9), but was thinking there was a chance I could use it on both. Anyone using any suppressors on a SAR handgun without a booster? Just curious.
