No Magnetic Ring, Ring or Circle Back

Happy to report, All BCS orders have been shipped! Thanks to all supporting our project. It is greatly appreciated..This color blue has become internally a favorite- we had to ship this along with a standard black case that didn’t meet our new QA because this material has been dialed in and is close to gen2 ready - in order to meet our shipping commitments, we throw in Easter eggs. Hopefully the site will have v2 available by 8/1. Keep in mind all gen1 early adopters (up to 100) will receive a complimentary gen2 of your color choice.

We would love to know if others agree? Imminent Exciting times ahead for the new users.

Thanks to all of our early users of the BCS standard and Circle Back cases! We are in heavy development mode of the v2 BCS cases and a new offering with two different types of material, in one case. We have been shipping orders as they come in and will have all out Monday and Tuesday next week.

As we begin to integrate more colors we will update the site and can do more custom color matching here at the beginning for any orders under 100 of the standard BCS and Circle Back BCS cases. More information can be found on our site.

This week we begin the prints of color cases. We have the blue with glitter effect, as pictured, hot pink as pictured and a few other variants in the works. We imagine offering a custom color match service for those looking to personalize. There may be a one time (for any new color) additional charge of $10. Please let us know what other colors you want to see! We are looking to source the right army green variant as well.

These will be the BCS Case gen 1 on a superior tooling which will leave cleaner lines and improved quality all around. As soon as gen 2 is available, we will let you all know.

BEST CASE SCENARIO

Today the first half of remaining orders were shipped and tomorrow the second half remaining will go out. This is inclusive of the ‘rose gold’ magnetic ring. At this time we are seeing best results with this combination. But our engineer is working with a new factory to make this custom for us. So expect to receive this in the mid-term once we finalize. The ‘Circle Back’ allows for either standard ring or a slightly larger magnetic one. Both fit through the hole but the one with the magnet will do so more of at an angle. Again we truly appreciate your support and early usage. Please remember there will be a ‘wear in’ period with which the case will become more smooth and counterintuitively grippy as it is used. For example the standard case here on the left is used for a few days and the ‘Circle Back’ was just printed. Cheers to more exciting things to come.

PS. If you select a PETL MagSafe compatible charger we will communicate directly to ship the best color available as new larger options were just released by the company we had selected to partner with. Keep in mind our initial testing does show some limited degradation to idle time consumption shortly after wireless charging 2x. Mileage will vary but we need to better understand if this solves any problems like it did for me when I first traveled without anything other than wireless chargers.

We have shipped all orders of the BCS Case that came in prior to today! Next shipment will be by Wednesday next week if not before. Thanks again for the community alerting us that the first batch of magnets were no good and not the sku we ordered. Thankfully only one BCS + Sidephone daily driver was affected and we will make this right very soon (replacement shipping out today). We are working to deliver impactful solutions. This is better but still could be dislodged with a large bump on a rocky road.

Good news! All orders for the Sidephone BCS cases will ship tomorrow. We are evaluating our magnetic ring suppliers, and will continue to refine the offering for orders up to 100.

This is an internal discussion we have that I’d like to better understand. Is anyone interested in the ability to wirelessly charge the device? This is installed in our very 1st ever ‘Best Case Scenario’ 3D print and it charges approx 1a.

Good news to the wonderful sidephone community - All orders have been shipped! As you receive your BCS case, you will find new helpful videos from us coming out later this week about simple and easy install tips. This case is best installed by sliding the bottom / tile side into the position inside the case first, precisely fitting the lower corners inside and under the ‘overhang’ protected tile area. Then pressing the upper screen side into the case like you would first place your feet on the bed to then lay down. We will get those videos done and out but please, in the interim, let us know if any questions.
