Frontier Atlanta → SFO, May 12: Gate changed 3 times, app never updated, denied boarding. Out $500. Seeking advice on refund and legal options.
I had a Frontier flight from Atlanta to San Francisco on May 12, scheduled for 4:55 PM EST. I entered the airport at 3:15 PM. After clearing security, I checked the boarding gate and saw E33, so I went there. By the time I arrived it was 4:25 PM, but I noticed the flight displayed at that gate was not mine. The mobile app still showed E33, but when I checked my email, there was an alert about a gate change to T15. Atlanta Airport has long inter-terminal travel times, so I rushed over and reached T15 by 4:35 PM. The gate agent there told me the flight was actually at E31, and that it had been delayed to 5:05 PM. The app still hadn't updated. I rushed back to E31, arrived at 4:50 PM, and was not allowed to board. The app never updated the gate in time. I couldn't hear any PA announcements. Only the scattered terminal display boards had the correct information. Six other passengers were in the same situation as me. The app finally updated the gate at 5:02 PM EST — after the original scheduled departure time. Frontier offered to rebook me on an 18-hour itinerary, which I declined. I ended up paying $500 for a Delta flight home. I want to get a refund and possibly talk to a lawyer. How should I go about this?
