I made a boo-boo… I cut my old thermometer that came with my Masterbuilt 800 out. It had a type K connection. I haven’t been able to figure out if there is a way to use channel 1-6 to automatically control the temperature/fan. I’ve been using the app and manually set the fan speed to start it up so I know it functions. Anyone know if the channels versus the pit can be used for temp/fan control?
Install took literally 2 minutes. Seems to be working, and I’ll be testing it out with a brisket this weekend!
I went back and fourth on wanting a pro vs dc board. Ended up with the DC because it’s clean install and I don’t really plan on moving it to a different smoker.

Only took 3.5 years…
So, for some context, I had the past week off after my father passed. Just got some things done around the house, saw some family and ran errands. I ended up going to HF three days in a row. Sunday I just walked around and didn’t get anything. Monday I impulse bought a ratchet and some magnet socket holders. Today I went in because I saw the sale announcement for June 1st. My local HF doesn’t usually have any of the 5 drawer mechanic carts or larger tool boxes in stock at the store, just available to be ordered. So I asked one of the workers how that works if I want something on sale that has to be ordered since I’ve never done that before. The kid explained it to me and I said thank you.
The store manager started walking up shortly after and he asked me why I was there. I was a little confused, and asked him to clarify. He told me that the last three days he’s seen me and feels like I’m being weird. Didn’t think I was actually there to shop and that he felt I was threatening the store or planning to steal. I was completely baffled. Like, this felt out of left field and I don’t even play baseball. I was at a complete loss for words and he just stood firm ground right in my face and asked to leave. So I walked out without any kind of real explanation or means to explain myself. Mind you, I’ve been going to the harbor freight for the last 7 years or so. Ever since I’ve lived at my current place. So, needless to say I won’t be going there on June 1st now lol…
