Do me a flavor and read this

Well chicos, I did it again. Another 50 hours in the books as I cruised by 800 hours. For the uninitiated, I reward myself by eating an ice cream when - and only when - I pass 50 hour milestones.

For these last 50 hours, I turned away from DS for a bit and cruised into some Netflix shows, starting with El Inocente, followed by El Cuerpo en Llamas, and I'm two seasons in to Entrevias.

This time, my family and I went to an ice cream shop that was closed the last time that we came, as they are only open from May to October (we caught them before they closed for the winter months). I normally hate cherry flavored ice cream (Cherry Garcia in Ben and Jerry's worst offering), but when the ice cream vendor told me they had a special Amarena flavor, I tried a scoop and it was incredible (and matched well with a scoop of chocolate).

I'll see you all in 50 hours. Keep dreaming! And now, for the ice cream related question: What ice cream flavor has really grown on you over the years?

Internal Meltdown

This post a couple of weeks late, but I've officially crossed the 750 hours halfway point as I continue my goal to 1500 hours, eating ice cream when... and only when... I complete 50 hour increments of Spanish comprehensible input.

For this ice cream, I happened to be on a bit of a summer vacation to an island and picked up a local flavor, "Polvito Uruguayo." It was interesting and quite delicious.

As I reach the halfway point of this journey, I realize several things: 1) it works. By golly this process works. I'm functionally fluent already at only the halfway mark, and now am just improving vocabulary and flow. But it is so slow and painstaking... and honestly, when I slowed down my daily progress by only 30 minutes a day at the beginning of this year, it feels like I reduced my overall progress by like 80%. I know that's not accurate, but it's how I feel... and 2) how do you other parents do this? With a fulltime job and then another fulltime job at home, maybe I need some more ice cream to give me energy to sacrifice sleep to find the time to get more hours. Oh well! Complaining over.

Without further ado, our big ice cream question: what dessert best pairs with a scoop of vanilla?

[TOMT][Movie] Watched a movie on a plane ~2013-2020. Now I can’t seem to find it anywhere on the internet

I know that that’s a wide range of years but my memory is definitely fuzzy after a long time. Here’s what I remember about the movie:

- It was not in English. I watched it on a plane maybe 5 or 10 years ago with English subtitles but it was in a foreign language… perhaps French or Italian.

- I thought the movie was titled “Il Café” but after not finding what I’m looking for on Google, now I’m not too sure.

- The entire movie was in black and white, but I don’t believe that it was an old movie. I think it was made after the year 2000, and probably was a fairly new release when I watched it to be showing on the plane.

- The entire movie was set in a cafe. We never saw anything outside of the cafe. The entire movie was centered around different characters having conversations with one central character, who was seated at a diner table booth. Different characters would leave and enter to talk to this man.

- I don’t think it was Hollywood.

- The man in the cafe represented (figuratively) a personification of the devil. Each of the characters would make ”deals with the devil” gaining something that they sought in exchange for doing something that affected the other characters from the cafe (usually negatively).

- I remember researching the film years ago after watching it, and i remember (perhaps erroneously) that its script was based on a screenplay from a stage theatre show.

DS gifted me 700 hours...

Has this happened to anyone before?

I went to bed with about 734 hours and woke up with 1434 hours. Refreshing doesn't help, I checked my "outside hours" to make sure i didn't accidentally input 700 hours by accident. I'm hoping that this is a correctable bug.
