Best off-road way to up Mt. Tam?

My bike is set up more like a rigid mtb. It’s a Velo Orange Polyvalent with a 34T front and 11-52T rear running flat bars with a small sweep. I run 27.5x2.2” XC tires. It’s set up for Briones and Shell ridge because that’s where I live. I’d prefer to avoid cars if possible and ride dirt or gravel. What’s the preferred route in this case?

Been really digging these Kenda Saber Pros

I swapped from 2.2” Cava JFF for something a little better for loose dirt. I barely feel like it’s any slower and it’s almost just as supple. Definitely noisier but does great on loose stuff.
