150KM per day running - which car should i buy?
Hey everyone, need some genuine advice from people who’ve experience with EVs/hybrids
My daily office commute is around 150 km approx round trip 74km one-way (North Delhi to Gurgaon via UER2), 4 days a week.
Currently driving a Tata Altroz petrol which gives around 13 kmpl and my monthly fuel cost is touching almost 20-25k sometimes.
I live in a flat but I do have dedicated parking, so home charging is possible but have to opt for three phase meter etc which would be extra task for me but manageable
Now I’m super confused between:
Mahindra BE6 79 kWh
Creta EV
Hybrid options like Hyryder grand vitara
Initially I was leaning towards BE6 because the battery size 79kw + claimed range seems amazing for the price (around 26-27L)
But then range anxiety kicks in when I think about long trips or highway driving. We do family trips maybe once or twice a month mostly to hillstations
At the same time, I’ve heard mixed things about hybrids:
Some people say Hyryder gives crazy mileage in city only but on highways the mileage drops a lot
My route is mixed, but a good chunk is highway/expressway driving on UER2
What I mainly want:
- Comfortable daily commuter
- Good for family
- Reliable for long term
- Low running cost
- Not something that feels tiring after daily Gurgaon runs
Budget is 25-27L can stretch upto 30
Would an EV actually make more sense for my usage or should I play safe with hybrid for now?
