Using hands/typing

Hi everyone,

I have been using Mexitil 200mg three times daily and also use lidocaine cream 5% mixed with diclofenac. This mix seems to work okay for me. Is there anything else you’ve tried that helps with typing all day? My hands can get very painful and swell some so it becomes difficult and I can only really think about the pain most of the time.

Awaiting gene test results

Well I’m waiting on gene testing to determine if my Erythromelalgia is genetic. I’ve also been having neuropathic pain and so he is running both SCN9A and SCN10A through Invitae labs, it’s their small fiber neuropathy panel. I’ve been stressed lately and everything is so much worse when I’m stressed.

At my last appointment my Mexitil was increased to 200mg three times a day. This has been helpful but I can’t help but feel like it’s just a small improvement each dose increase.

Last night I could not sleep well, I never really do but last night was different. I wake up and toss and turn over 100 times. I try not to count on bad nights because it is depressing but this was the worst ever. My feet and legs become extremely cold and feel wet and I have bad electric shocks and throbbing pain in them. My hands and to a lesser degree my face were hurting and feeling hot and prickly.

Just venting I guess. I wish I could increase my meds and figure this out faster. My life is a lot better on it but going back to how things were makes me want just sleep for an entire week.

Update: Gene testing came back negative. Doctor saying it is sporadic/idiopathic.
