Ik you can just find naturally created dimen pairs outside after they all fall off the trees and rot, but I wanted to try dyeing them myself to get a darker and more consistent colour. Also maybe they would turn out different due to being dyed earlier( instead of waiting for them to fall off the trees i picked them). The photo I have is them compared to a normal coloured black walnut to show the contrast. Like my prev pair I just soaked them in walnut fruit juice mixed with water for abt 2 days in a ziplock bag. I thunk they turned out great and am currently gonna soak a diff pair for longer to see if they get any darker.
Since I recently harvested a few black walnuts I wanted to try making a patchy dimen pair like some ppl have. I cleaned a normal pair and made a mixture of walnut fruit pulp and water to paint on the walnuts. I feel I could've made it thicker or more concentrated but I don't hate the results. Hopefully after the walnuts dry and I get to play with them the dyed parts will pop out more. Not sure how well the dye will stick on but I also washed the walnut to scrub some of the pulp off and it seems to be dyed enough? Might try this again at some point.
I think the colour is rlly nice :)
Ive had them for a few days and I rlly like how they are looking! I'm trying to let them dry longer tho.
