Disaster struck over night

So i woke up this morning around 5am to the sound of my HOB filter pulling air. Ngl i tried to ignore it at first but when I turned over, I jolted up. My 40 gallon tank was now 20 gallons in the tank, and 20 gallons on my bedroom floor. HALF of the water leaked out (where the white line is). I immediately turned off my filter, then heater (which is probably fried i dont even want to test it) and grabbed towels to try and do damage control and keep the water from spreading…which i failed at theres definitely water everywhere. As I was searching for the source of the leak, I noticed that the towel underneath the tank was completely dry. i then noticed the other half of the air stone I had in there hanging out of the side of the tank. THE AIRSTONE PULLED HALF OF THE WATER OUT OF MY TANK OVERNIGHT😭 Luckily all i have in there is 4 pearl gourami and they all survived. This is definitely a lesson learned. Its now 7am and i am going back to sleep. Ill get a new heater later.

40 Gallon Breeder Stocking

Im setting up a 40 gallon soon and would like to know thoughts and opinions on my stocking choices.

8-10 Congo Tetra
2 Rams (leaning toward German blue or Bolivian)
10 Pearl Danios

I need some kind of algae eater. I already have otos. I dont want khuli loaches or corys. Im thinking about a hillstream loach but they require cooler water than the rams. But i think those hillstream loaches look sooo cool. Any thoughts or ideas?

Fenbendazole dosing help?!

Sooo, I have hydra…in TWO of my tanks. I have a 10 gallon nano and shrimp tank and a 20 gallon pea puffer tank.

The hydra honestly didnt bother me. I first had them in my pea puffer tank. The population exploded after the peas nuked all the snails (this was planned i just didnt expect it to happen so quickly). Since then the population of hydras has drastically decreased. Theyre still in there, but not nearly as many. But my peas and otos aren’t bothered by them.

Here is my problem. They started booming recently in my 10 gallon. I started to breed bladder snails in there so I can have a live food supply for my puffers and out of no where there is hydra everywhere.

I was not too worried about it as adult shrimp are normally fine around hydra. I am now worried because one of my blue shrimp is pregnant! Shes having babies!! 🥰 So excited for that, however i need to get rid of the hydra now.

I did some research and found that i can use Fenbendazole and it will be perfectly safe for the fish and shrimp. I am just usure on the dosage, especially with momma shrimp in there. Please help! Im going to dose my 10 gal with pearl danios, blue shrimp, and 2 amano shrimp. While im at it i might as well dose my 20 gal puffer tank. I got the Safe-Gaurd Dog Dewormer powder in 1 gram pouches. Can someone help me?
