ש vs. כש

I teach Hebrew, and this is the mistake I hear most — usually from Israelis, less from students.

ש and כש are not the same word.

ש = "that."

אמרתי לך שאני בא — I told you that I'm coming.

כש = "when."

תתקשר אליי כשתגיע — Call me when you arrive.

Yet you'll hear "תתקשר אליי שתגיע" everywhere.

Small word. Big difference. 😉

Bear's Inability to Follow Through with His Decisions

One of the things I liked about the movie was that Bear is a coward and incapable of fully committing to his decisions. He was never brave enough to face the different situations throughout the film, and even at the end, after deciding to take his own life, he could not bring himself to pull the trigger. He even tried to throw up the pills he had swallowed. If Nikki had not made a wish, he would have vomited the pills and continued the same pattern—trying to do something, only to back out at the last moment. In my opinion, he was his own worst enemy.

It's not because I want them to reach me from another platform. I like Preply and I want to stay there, but is it ok to tell a student your last name just because we are talking about names and surnames? Thanks
